Shelter Writes Brutally Honest Adoption Memo For Their ‘Utter Bastard Of A Cat’

Meet Mr. Biggles, a cat who is ‘a despot and dictator’ and an ‘utter utter utter bastard’- at least that’s what his adoption ad claims. This week, pet adoption agency Cats Of Melbourne, based in Australia, posted a very say-it-as-it-is memo for Mr. Biggles, cracking people up around the world. Gina Brett, founder and group co-ordinator of the organization, is the mastermind behind the genius ad for the badass black cat also known as Lord Bigglesworth.

“He will let you know he is not happy, which is often, because things are often just not up to his high standards,” the memo reads. “Mr. Biggles likes his cuddles on his terms, and will sit in your lap when he decides it’s time. If the stroking is not up to his standards, he will nip you.”

Nevertheless, the agency admits that Mr Biggles has a ‘secret soft side’, too. “He loves sleeping on the end of the humans bed, and in his cat bed (and he snores just a little bit, it’s so cute).”

Despite the ad going viral, Mr Biggles has yet to find a forever home. “He’s had a lot of responses since I put his profile up on Sunday but sadly no human slaves have offered themselves up as sacrifices as yet.” Clearly, the kitty is not for the fainthearted!

We had a cat that started with nipping behaviour when she was thwarted. She wasn't biting hard, but it still hurt. We cured that nonsense in about two weeks. Every time she nipped the person whose lap she was using, she got put unceremoniously on the floor. Every time she did a drive-by bite just because she was cranky, she got misted with a plant sprayer. Since she hated getting wet, she soon figured out that she'd get all the adoration she demanded - if she behaved herself. She was a lovely cat who lived to be 18 years old.

Used to have a cat like that. Still have the scar from not petting him long enough. RIP, Mr. Wicked.

He sounds magnificent!!!! I wish I lived there so I could adopt him. I so hope just the right person steps up, takes him home and loves him well and forever. He deserves that.

I'm not sure how far away you are, but you could always enquire about whether he can be adopted abroad. I'm in the U.K., and I know it's not as far away as Australia, but people here often adopt dogs from Cyprus and Spain etc. It might be possible for Mr Biggles to emigrate to your country!

t would be nice if the light grey ink you use for comments would be black so it could be read.

Must be a black cat thing. My Alfy nips me if I don't pet him "right". Yes he has drawn blood on occasion but he's still my baby and I love him.

Sounds like my last tom cat. When they get nippy I found putting them in another room worked. If he is a companion craver like the add implys he will learn quickly. But he is a stunner, shame I live in England an my cat is a little jealous of other cats.

When animals snore it's adorable but when I do it I need to "stop snoring or else I sleep on the couch"

I have a bastard too, but he's red. Same behaviour......love him though, especially when he sleeps next to me. That's his soft side. In rest, he thinks us, humans, are his slaves

Sounds like one of my cats, except he loves being picked up; all the better to try to pierce your face with his teeth. He promises he's just trying to make us look cool.
