That lovely German word 'schadenfreude' describes the pleasure that one gets in witnessing another person's misfortune. While we don't necessarily condone this slightly evil feeling, it can be useful in putting one's own struggles and unfortunate events into perspective.
For example, you're not having a good time of things. You didn't get much sleep, the car won't start, and you're late for work. Seems like you're having the worst day ever! It's easy to feel grumpy and full of self-pity; you might even bring the people around you down as well, with your crappy mood.
However, one look at this list, compiled by Bored Panda, will immediately make you realize how much worse things can be. These people are having a really bad day, and it's sure to be worse than yours. Does that make things better? Yes. Should it really? Probably not. But somehow it does, so who are we to argue?

100% serious, you need to get checked out or identify that newt or salamander. There are numerous species that excrete a neurotoxin from their skin when threatened. There was a moth floating in my coffee once. I picked it off and drank it anyway. __________ What? I should wait while it perks me another one? Horrors.
This happened to me once and I only found out after washing the dishes. I felt so bad I held a mini funeral for the lil guy and buried him in my succulent sanctuary
But such beverage would become highly poisonous. In fact consuming such tea would be fatal.
If that had have been a rough skinned newt, that "foul taste" would be accompanied by death.
I just lost all my meals and the snack I ate today....BARF-O-RAMA! I ALWAYS check EVERYTHING i eat or drink, including holding bottles up the a light.
Those metal cups are the best thing ever. My ice water stays cold for hours.
So, one explanation could be that when you boil water the lizard search it's way to the steam that collects on the ceiling and then falls into the kettle.

How does this even happen? Did they not look in the cup at all before pouring (assuming it was dead in the cup. I can't see how that would have come out of a tea maker)
