Remember Daniel Powter's song Bad Day? The one where he sings about our blue sky fading to gray and our passion going away? There's something about belting your worries away that's quite relieving.

But Bored Panda has something even better, something that should help you forget your troubles altogether. Even if for a little while.

You see, we Lithuanians "like to watch our neighbor's house burn" so in honor of our roots, what if we painted their sky even darker? No, not black. More like a bottle of sweet and sour sauce exploding in a bag. Or accidentally taking a laxative instead of aspirin.

We put together a new list of pictures that show people having a terrible day, and we're quite confident they will make you feel better about yours. Scroll down to check out the images and catch up on the series here, here, and here.

Dealing with unexpected situations can be tricky. And not just in terms of the money needed to clean up the mess. "Some degree of anxiety is normal and even necessary," Dr. Ann Epstein, a psychiatrist at Harvard-affiliated Cambridge Health Alliance and medical editor of the Harvard Special Health Report Coping with Anxiety and Stress, said.

"Anxiety signals to us that something is awry or might need our attention. However, you don't want the response to become exaggerated or to dominate your life," Epstein explained. Good coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety can help you get through turbulent times.

But Vanessa Bohns, an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Cornell University and the author of the forthcoming book 'You Have More Influence Than You Think,’ had some good news for us. In an earlier Bored Panda interview, she said that being embarrassed (and not hiding it!) can actually help us connect with other people. Hopefully, it’ll convince you to embrace blushing, feeling embarrassed, and being in awkward situations.

“Displaying signs of mild embarrassment can actually be socially constructive and make people feel more sympathetic towards you in the face of your faux pas,” Vanessa explained.

“I don’t necessarily think you need to take pains to hide it,” Vanessa added that we ought to avoid running away from our embarrassment or pretending that we’re not feeling like we’re feeling.

However, there is something that we should be aware of and that’s not letting our embarrassment turn to shame. A healthy dose of blushing and awkward mumbling is one thing, but deep-seated shame is problematic in the long run.

“What you want to be careful not to do is to let embarrassment morph into the more destructive self-conscious emotion of shame, where you feel so badly about a minor mistake that you start to think there is something wrong with you and feel the need to completely disappear and hide away yourself,” Vanessa said.

Hopefully, this list will convince you to embrace blushing and climb out of awkward situations with stronger interpersonal connections!

(USA) A friend was hit by an uninsured driver, hard, while walking her dog. Was lifelined (helicopter) to a large medical facility because her injuries were so severe. Was in the hospital for a few weeks. Dog was in the hospital, too. They're both home now. She has very good insurance. The helicopter alone was $75,000. Insurance paid $5,000. Seriously. SHE WAS WALKING HER DOG and her life has been changed by not only the ignorant driver, but the system is going to force her to declare bankruptcy as well. BS.

Not sure if this is too late, but have your friend look at her medical info and check out the maximum out of pocket amount for the year. Unfortunately this is usually a separate amount for in network and out of network. If this happened after the Affordable healthcare act passed, then either the ambulance company or the insurance is stealing her money. In 2021, the out of pocket maximum is capped at $8,550 for individuals and $17,100 for a family plan. Worst case scenario, if on family plan and no one in the family had any contribution to this amount earlier in the year, then she should be charged no more than $17,100. The insurance should pay out everything 100$ after that. I know it still sucks, but it sucks a lot less than $70,000.

How bad is the healthcare/insurance in the USA? I know several women who planned their pregnancies' around their insurance coverage, my mother included. She worked in healthcare at the time and figured out that back then, prenatal care was free with Planned Parenthood, so she gave birth after upping her coverage at the start of the year

Another example of why the US healthcare system needs a major overhaul - starting with making it non-profit. No one should profit from someone else's illness, injuries, pregnancies, etc. End of story.

When my oldest son was born, 34 years ago, the nurses came to my wife and said that he couldn't leave the hospital until HIS bill paid. She said it should all be covered insurance. They agreed but the health insurance company said they weren't paying...because he wasn't listed on the policy!!!!! She called & tore a new hole into someone's ass!! Then he was allowed to come home with us.

Ah. I have spent countless hours on the phone with my medical provider. We once had to file an appeal because my husband needed a low air loss mattress as he was confined to bed, in order to prevent bedsores. Their logic: he didn't have bedsores, therefore he didn't need a low air loss mattress. We lost the appeal, bought the mattress out our own pockets and he never had a bed sore. Thank you insurance.

I am currently in hospital in the UK for the third week. Had 4 operations then transferred to another hospital for a skin graft operation and going to be here for another week. Everyday they change my dressing the packaging from the supplies alone fills a carrier bag! I would be scared to know how much all of this would cost if I was in the US.

If you're unsure about a charge on your medical bill, request an itemized bill. An itemized bill contains detailed descriptions that can help you argue unfair or incorrect charges. You can also negotiate charges by comparing what you were charged with the hospital's listed prices.
