There are units, and then there are absolute units. If the latter doesn’t ring a bell, it may be because the odd-sounding term comes from internet culture, where people use it to refer to a large, round animal or object.
It’s a descriptive meme in the family of “smol bean” or “beautiful cinnamon roll,” and you can totally feel somewhat of an affectionate feel about it.

Oh... god, I actually knew that some horses hav this color transition (it's the reason white horses are called "grey" in English) but it never occurred to me that this is just like the normal course with humans... funny thing, with horses it's "special" and gorgeous and with humans it's just old and boring.

Gorgeous horse to a gorgeous magical horse. Becoming great makes the horse look like a unicorn, or majestic creature.
Seeing some misinformation here... Not ALL black horses transition to grey. There are many black horses of many breeds that stay black. And not all horses that grey out as they age are born black, either. They can be born many colors and end up nearly white as get old. My own horse was a bay when she was born, which means brown with black mane and tail. She is now 15 and nearly looks white. It's all about genetics. The tail is NOT tied up, at least on the first horse (can't tell on the second). The first horse has a docked tail, meaning the tail bone was cut very short. Yes, the tail BONE was cut off leaving a very short nub of a tail bone. Because of this, the hair can no longer grow very long. It is done to keep their tails from getting tangled in harness, however, it is a very controversial practice these days.
It's tied up so it doesn't get in the way of driving harness

Honestly it always perplexes me how big, strong and fast these creatures are yet they are prey animals and tend to be quite timid.
As a (kinda experienced) horse rider, I bet unless the horse was an absolute sweetheart, it would be impossible to get a bridle on without trying quite hard. And what about the size of the girth the owner will have to use? It either has to be long or really stretchy (to clarify, a girth is the thing that goes under the belly of a horse to keep a saddle on)

Are you certain this is the same horse? The shape of the head appears to be different.
Ok one they are both beautiful horses, but they are not the same horses. If you look at the shape if their heads the structure of the backs and chest and their hooves, you could see that there not the same horse.

There was a horse about that tall at the stables I take my horse back riding lessons at, the horse I ride could walk under it if he ducked. Unfortunately I usually would hit my face on it when he did.

Peoole who say it's a different horse clearly have no idea that horses can be born black, but grey out with age (simple genetics). You can see the grey in the first photo. And yes, hoof colour can chanflgeas well.

Absolute unit,” with regards to a photo of British hotelier David Morgan-Hewitt standing next to the Queen of England. Mr. Morgan-Hewitt is a very large lad, indeed.

I have deduced that "unit" now means large or oversized. But is it just a coincidence everyone is using the same adjective "absolute"...or is the full term "absolute unit"? Language is changing so fast...I am Gen X, and "unit" use to mean something very different, and it was not always large.
The full term is "absolute unit", though "unit" could be used standalone if it's in a drive by comment, it's mostly used as the full term. It's specific meaning is "something exceptionally large for what it is".

Not all black horses turn gray, it's more likely if the horse has a gray parent. And while we're on the subject, a foal's color is often different from it's adult coat color.

I looked at what Ben Smith had to say, well, I did agree with him re perspective. I have been a keen amateur photographer, so can see when the camera is too close to the subject, esp. the macaron, and the duck. You need something to compare the sizes, like the Percheron stallion.
