Photographer Captures World’s Tiniest Rodeo: Frog Riding A Beetle
175Kviews
Hendy Mp, a talented wildlife photographer based in Indonesia, has captured what is probably one of the weirdest spectacles we’ve ever seen – a tree frog going for a wild rodeo ride on the back of a giant horned wood-boring beetle. The tree frog is a Reinwardt’s Flying Frog, a threatened species that can glide down from trees with the skin between its fingers and toes.
The wild and adorable scene was captured not far from Mp’s home in Sambas, Indonesia. Mp is a fan of macro photography, and uses it to capture beautiful larger-than life photos of the many different beautiful insects, reptiles and amphibians native to Indonesia.
If you love having a close-up look at the tiny world of frigs, lizards and insects, then you’ll definitely love these photos by Vyacheslav Mishchenko and Miki Asai as well.

This is kinda cute and funny at the same time
The frog is definitely being forced into those positions and is definitely distressed. Frogs don't open their mouths like that unless they're under severe stress, and the hand position is completely unnatural and was likely forced that way.
it is torture nothing more. All these pictures are staged. "Hendy Mp, a talented wildlife photographer" Hmpf my *** a fraud that is what he is. Basically every picture is staged with "pets". He doesn't see them as that, he sees them as toys. (his words not mine).
Thanks, officer buzzkill.
Makes you wonder if they can communicate with each other.
No it doesn't. It makes you wonder how long this poor frog has been staged in pictures that is so exhausted that it sits still on an animal it wouldn't get close to in any normal situation.
Wee woo wee woo! The PETA police has arrived!
Bro, bro, broooo !!! lets do this, lets do this, lets do thisss!!! Yihaaaaa!!!
Sometimes these types of photos are result of animal abuse http://heejennwei.blogspot.gr/2013/08/pseudo-nature-photographers-of-indonesia.h
Thank you for the link 👍
Kermit size rhino rodeo. Lol
staged cruelty. The open mouth indicates the frog is distressed. They usually do that either for eating (duh) or when extremely distressed, like when being eaten by a snake. THIS IS NOT CUTE. Stop it! Shame on you, BoredPanda. Everyone was outraged when a dog got dipped in some water for a movie, but this photographer repeatedly staging frogs and telling BALANT LIES about how the encounter happened and we all find it cute? This frog is nocturnal, it would not even be active during the day. For the love of fuck, wake up and smell the cruelty.
As indonesian... such a disgrace to see this so called wildlife photographer http://gizmodo.com/those-adorable-animal-pics-may-be-fake-and-cruel-1173395567
I think it's amazing ! What a ride !! Wild !)
Those aren't wildlife photos, they are faked, staged photos of a distressed frog forced into unnatural positions.
staged cruelty. The frogs open mouth suggests it is very distressed- they do this when being eaten by a snake, for instance. This is NOT cute. The fact that this photographer (or others like him) keep doing this to frogs and the internet keeps lapping it up is honestly an indictment of humanity. We all got outraged at the one time a dog got dipped in some water for a movie, but someone repeatedly staging frogs (and they are easily damaged during this) and telling lies about how it happened.. we're just ok with that? Please wake up.
I have a friend that has this pic for his Facebook account lol

That is so awesome! I love it. Makes me laugh hahaha!
can't convince me that frog isn't having a good time
It is certainly being badly abused to be forced in such positions.
i just cant believe
Let's sing the happy frog song now! :D
Interesting
looks like the frog is having the ride of his life!

La nature est plus incroyable que la fiction!
How funny is that? The photographer was in the right place at the right time. Thank you for sharing.
No, he definitely faked/staged the shots himself. They are his pets, not wild animals.
Seems artificial or "Photo-Shopped" as it is very authentic, the rarest of rare sights to photograph.
How incredible is that. The photographer had a lucky day. Not too many people would catch that to take photos of. They are great. Thanks.
Thats awesome. Inspirational
Amazing: how much was posing how do you pose a frog), how much was happenstance? Great stuff!
They were very forceably posed, he is known for that.
where were they going? why did it need a ride? it seems slower instead hmm..
Adorable.
That frog looks like it is having the time of it's life. Look at that smile in the last pic!
Amazing, both the wild nature content and the photographer's patience and observation skills.
So fun and happy and uplifting and beautiful. Just fabulous photography!
Fantastic photos! According photographer' name, he is Ukrainian. But I'd like to know where he did those photos???
Sambas, Indonesia, according to the photo intro.
Thank you, Peggy!
Wonder if they live in symbiosis.
No I think they live in Indonesia....

Fantastic photos of that colorful frog. Great photographer. Love ALL the frog photos!
Cool pics.
Very unique and patience had to have been used to capture these two.
This is most definitely staged. Like many others. I wish these people didn't get this much attention.
seen his FB page. All staged photo's. These and the ones with the dragon lizard are on the same branch. Horrible person.
