Guy Leaves Egg In Car During Hot Day To Show Why You Should Never Leave Your Dog There
Someone just posted an instructional series of photos of what happens to an egg in a frying pan left in a parked car on a hot day for 15 minutes – all in the hope of raising awareness about NOT leaving dogs in a car.
According to PETA, every year dogs suffer and even die when their owners leave them in a parked car – even if it’s ‘just a minute’ to run an errand. The organization calls parked cars a ‘deathtrap for dogs’. “On a 78-degree day, the temperature inside a parked car can soar to between 100 and 120 degrees in just minutes, and on a 90-degree day, the interior temperature can reach as high as 160 degrees in less than 10 minutes.”
This can lead to brain damage or sudden heatstroke death in just 15 minutes. Remember that for dogs beating heat is extra tough, because the only way of cooling themselves they have is by panting and by sweating through their paw pads.
PETA also warns of the danger of hot pavement – if it’s too hot for you to touch pavement with your hand, it will be too hot for your four-legged friend. “If you wouldn’t put your dog in a frying pan, please don’t make him or her walk on hot pavement.”

Share on FacebookIt's sad that people do this. I mean why would you do it. There's something called a doggy-sitter......(ill gladly take the job)
your name and profile picture makes me think of someone I would trust with a dog
Load More Replies...Poor babies. If you have to be reminded that your dog will die in a hot car, you don't need one!!! How about don't own an animal. That one is a pekingese and they usually have respiratory issues anyway from facial structure. My MIL was assaulted one day because she called the police on a man for leaving his dog in the car. The police basically told her not to be nosy. Let's just say she got a written apology and pressed charges against the dog owner for putting his hands on her.
Pug, not pekingese. Pekingese would be even worse as they have the same smushed nose that causes respiratory problems, plus long fur.
Load More Replies...It is unreal how every fricking summer people have to be reminded of this. Luckily in Finland, leaving animal in car on a warm day is a crime. (Obviously if aircontioned, not) Any person is allowed to rescue an animal if it appears to be in distress. So leave doggy in car on a hot day, you'll have ur window smashed, and police will be waiting for you with a fine.
Yeah same in Germany. You are always allowed to save people and animals from cars if they are in danger and the police would take too long to arrive. Luckily on hot days a lot of businesses allow dog owners to take their pets inside with them if possible!
Load More Replies...in Israel, in the past years, many people "forget" their children in the car... and the child dies from the same reason, heat. wanna hear something crazy ? the parents do not get punished by the law because "of course they didn't mean to do it on purpose".
My neighbor dogsat for a few hrs and left my Pomeranian in the car when it was 90 degrees. My kids cried for WEEKS! Me too :,(
It feels like it's a high time to introduce an exam to pass before one can get an animal. Some people forget the responsibility part of it.
let's upgrade that to an exam for having children as well...
Load More Replies...People don't just leave pets in their cars. They leave kids, the elderly and the disabled. And guess what? They die too. Honestly, I feel like car makers should take this problem more seriously and make some kind of venting system so the insides of cars don't get so hot. Not that people shouldn't be, y'know, SMART and think about this issue themselves. Can't these people just leave their pets at home? We leave our dog at home, not in a freaking hot car. Yeah, he mopes, but he's far better off at home where it's cool. Also, yes, PETA are freaking monsters. Don't support them. Ever. They claim to care about animals, but they murder them with alarming regularity. They take all that profit for themselves, and murder the animals they're supposed to care for. Google it to read about some of the horrific s**t they've done.
This is animal cruelty. They are living creatures. Think of them as your children, innocent animals. And their fur locks in heat, it's death
California and some other states have passed "Good Samaritan" laws. If the dog is in obvious distress, you can call animal control, report the car, and then get permission to break a window to help the animal. You won't get in trouble for doing it. Also, the owner will get a ticket. After the 3rd ticket for this same thing, they go to jail.
No it's not it's still hotter in the car than outside think about sitting in a car with no a/ c on a hot day eventually you'll get out because it's cooler outside
Load More Replies...I have a rabbit #RiskoTheRabbit :) and it does not matter if it is sunny, cloudy, hot or cold out there, it does not matter if I go for 2min or 5min groceries shopping. I still take him with me!!! If the shop dont allow pets to be with you in small transport cage, I simply go to another one.. I love him, so why i would leave him somewhere just like a thing... + i live in a bigger city, poeple dont see rabits so often, so for some of them to see him, it makes their- well maybe not the day, but at least it makes their hour :)))
I saw something similar to this last year. A chef left a piece of steak in the car for about 45 minutes, just to teach a group of parents not to leave their kids in a hot car. That's a perfect way of giving an example.
Whenever I read articles, I head for the comment section just for this. XD
160 degrees?! That is UH! I CAN'T even describe the level of torture here. I think we should set up posters and signs in parking lots to let the owners know. If they still continue, then well... BREAK THE GLASS. (it's legal in Florida, should be legal everywhere, but that might have negative effects as well.)
People who leave dogs or children in car on a hot day are usually f*****g idiots. Like how people think opening a window a tad bit will do any good. Or it is not as bad when you leave car under tree shade. Just shows they know nothing about animals either do they understand sunrays or heat how they actually work...
I don't have a car but everytime I go for a walk with my dog and have to leave him outside, while I quickly buy some groceries for example, I always try to leave him somewhere in a shadow so that he won't get fried alive.
Leave the dog at home. You don't need to bring a dog everywhere.
