Drinking Beer! Fixing stuff! Destroying stuff! Drinking beer while destroying stuff! These are the things that make real men what they are...right? Well no, obviously. But that doesn't stop people - and brands in particular - having some pretty warped ideas about what exactly it means to be a man. Check out this list compiled by Bored Panda to see what we mean. People have been using the hashtags #FRAGILEMASCULINITY and #Masculinitysofragile to highlight how absurd traditional perceptions of masculinity can be, and it's sure to make you smile. Unless you're too manly to smile that is. Grr.

My friend constantly tells me I need to stand up for myself more, but also constantly mocks me when I am being confident. He says it's "just a joke," but I insist it is "just super annoying and you should stop"

I always thought it was called that because of those men who made kissing noises when they see an attractive woman and suddenly forgot about the existence of words.

It is interesting though how we attribute gender-attributes also to animals. I guess most people would even find several breeds of dogs to be rather male while others are rather female.

I see this as a way to be "safe" in case the other person doesn't share your feelings. I used to play this type of stuff in grade school.

Yeah...... except this is kind of a play on that concept? Like... this is trying to help men to get to their feelings? And tell them it's okay to feel?? Because society thinks feelings are for women? So... yeah, no.

Everybody looked at me weird when I bought a hairbrush to brush my longish hair to school. I don't understand why masculinity is so fragile. I'm apparently gay because I show lotsa feelings, compliment my friends, act kind to people, not have 50000000 social media accounts, share a lot, and have long hair. Why did men and young adults change so horribly?

The book itself is idiotic and harmful but the joke is laughing at a wrong thing. A reversal of stereotypical roles in fairy tales would be actually quite welcome.

I don't think this is "fragile" masculinity. Maybe men don't want to use something pink that smells like angel farts. Does it even say man? Maybe women want to be bad a*s. I WANT TO SMELL LIKE VICTORY!

Gee...how dare men want stylish, unique clothes! (I am assuming that, like a boutique, the styles are a bit more unique than what you'd find at a store like Kohls or JC Penny, and I have yet to see a boutique that has any selection for men)

When I was a kid eating Happy Meals at McDonald's, the "boy" version of the toy was a Hot Wheels car and the "girl" version was a little Barbie doll. I had no problem being a girl, but I was a boy every time I ate one of those Happy Meals and it still bothers me they couldn't ask "car or doll?" or "Hot Wheels or Barbie?" instead of "is this for a girl or a boy?".
