I think (and do not want to insult anyone or something like that) most of the comments could have been from Americans. At least that would explain their reactions. In a country where gun crimes are daily routine a "little knife" might seem like childplay.

So, this guy pulls the sword out of a stone and is on his way to save Britain. He gets busted and now Britain is stuck with Brexit. I sense Morgana at work here.
Sorry, not a joke. Wish it was, but knife crime has been a rising problem in uk. Thank goodness guns are difficult for street idiots to get hold of.
I'm British and had a sword (well, WWI bayonet) pulled on me once. Glad that swords are off the street.... Same for guns too.
I don’t care what all yall say. That thing looks dangerous!! People do get get killed with kitchen knives. But I admit, does look Game of Thrones.
I suspect most of the comments above were made by Americans... strangely.
Um, okay, but not all Americans are bad. Just saying.

A very big sharp chunk of metal that can easily kill. In Britain where the weapon of choice for violence is any blade they can grab. They have a knife crime epidemic and a sword is just a big knife it's easy to kill with. It is dangerous.
I remember a notice a few years ago. Three people tried to break into the house of a men who was armed with a katana. He defended himself and left the thief's with the police. Lots of blood though.
in england even if you are defending yourself you cannot use a "bigger"weapon than the assailant. for example if someone attacks you with a knife, you can't shoot him with a gun...r******d, i know. you should carry a whole armory. what's that mate, a piece of glass? oh s**t.

Yes, it can. The tang of the blade that is covered by the hilt holds it together in this case. A partial tang does not extend all the way through the hilt and is normally not more than half the width of the blade. If the blade is sharp, it is going to hurt someone.

I had a relative from the 12 century killed by one of those..... but dang they like totally missed.... the car, the gasoline in the car!, the poison in the car ( anti freeze & washer fluid) , the boiling oil in the car, the alternator & battery for torture & electrocution in the car! Wow!
Asked for comment the NSA (National Sword Association) had this to say, "Swords don't kill people. People kill people."
Thankfully we don't have those idiots in the UK.
Load More Replies...I expect people local to the moron who had the sword feel safer.
Load More Replies...It's a home made sword made for nefarious purposes. It is not a collectors item.
Load More Replies...It doesn't look remotely like a bar but let's run with that for the moment... is it possible to hurt someone with a 'bar of metal' with a hilt? Yes. So still worthy of being removed from the idiots that had it.
Load More Replies...It is illegal in the UK so of course they took it.
