After A Cop Pushed A Kneeling Woman, Black Female Police Officer Stands Up For Her

In the midst of the protests over the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota, footage of a male cop pushing a kneeling black woman to the ground emerged. But the incident, which happened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, didn’t stay unnoticed.

One black female officer stepped up to confront the cop over his actions. The video shows her yelling and what appears to be scolding as the male cop is running away. The brave officer is now being praised online and one protester behind the camera can be heard shouting “yes, thank you.” Let’s take a close look at the disturbing incident down below.

After the Fort Lauderdale police identified Steven Pohorence as the violent officer on video, tensions rose even further Sunday night. Local10 reports that Pohorence was suspended with pay while the investigation is taking place. He has been a member of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department since October 2016. Chief of Police Rick Maglione commented: “that officer has been removed from any contact with the public.”

The “heroic” police officer confronting Pohorence in the video was identified as Krystle Smith. Maglione said that “she did what she was supposed to do”: “When you see either adrenaline or emotion or some kind of interaction going south … that is our job to do, is intervene.” When Maglione was asked if he believes Poherence’s actions could have escalated the situation, the chief replied: “It could have added to what was already going on.”

It’s been speculated that the victim of the police’s force may have filed a lawsuit

He pushes someone who is kneeling. Not confronting him, not being violent, but kneeling. Just like the typical coward trying to cover his cowardice. You know, like (his idol, I bet) drumpf. I am willing to wager that, in truly violent situations, he runs or takes his time arriving on the scene to back up fellow officers, then picks on the weakest person he can find to get rough with. Conversely, I am confident the female officer is the first to step up and take care of business and is an excellent backup for her fellow officers.

They need to ferret out and get rid of police officers like him. I was a security guard when I was young and some of my colleagues let the 'power' go to their heads, walking around like pseudo-cops, doing all sorts of inappropriate things. You do not need power-mad, aggressive individuals on the front line when dealing with the public and 'maintaining order'. (I do know that a certain type of personality is required for more serious incidents, e.g. drug busts where a SWAT team is called in.)

Madame you are a Super Woman. May God bless you and keep you safe. It's time to end hiring unpredictable bigots, racist, white supremacist and clean up the police force through out the States. I will never ever understand why whites like this can't just be normal humans instead of being monsters. Lucky I was brought up in a family who didn't juge people on their ethical backgrounds, brought us up to embrace all communities. In my family we have married people from many continents, have been blessed to love and learn so much from each other. Our non Swiss husbands or wives come from Japan, Africa, China, Irak, Vietnam and Australian Aborigine. Of course many have also married Europeans. We have the most beautiful children thanks to God.

This is so disgusting. It is actions like this officer's that instigates the violence. Up until then the people were exercising their right to protest peacefully. The violence was a direct result of the officers attitude and actions. He should be fired and obviously became a cop to fulfill his desire for power and control. He is an angry and destructive man. She is the hero we need. She is a very strong, brave, and courageous woman. His behaviors are incorrigible and paid time off is laughable cause it's caught on camera. The environment is too volitile right now to be acting with such blatant disregard for black people. He knew exactly what he was doing, that's why he waited until he was on the edge of the crowd and not the beginning or middle. His behaviors suggest that he wants to instill fear. He's nothing more than a bully, using his brothers in blue to protect him while he abuses people and hides behind his badge. The protests in Louisville KY have been heartbreaking. Breonna Taylor, a 26 yr old young black woman was killed in her home about a week before George was killed so emotions were tense before the protests really kicked off and now we've had another unarmed black man killed Sunday night in Louisville KY after a incident involving Louisville police and the National Guard. 2 of 2 David was a pillar of the community. Often using his BBQ business to feed homeless shelters, the neighborhood, and police officers on a regular basis. The chief of police has been fired over this one because none of the officers involved were using their body cams and it's being investigated by KY State Police as the video of the scene shows what sounds like a gunshot and a pause, then the police and National Guard look around, then fire live rounds into a crowd. Reports stated that the National Guard shouldn't have been on that street. The police said they were there for a dusk till dawn curfew violation. David was at his place of business, but they were outside eating and drinking per statements. Too much sadness surrounding these unnecessary deaths.

So sad, these police men are dealing with an almost impossible situation. I can't imagine the amount of stress they're under. They're only human and you need to expect this type of reaction. Everyone loses their temper. His actions were wrong, no doubt, but totally normal for anyone.

I don't think you can blame the Army. You can blame the current president for pouring oil on the fire with his "looting shooting" tweet and his totally clueless handling of the very explosive situation. I think you can blame the entire system for ignoring all previous protests and outrages that occured. They were obviously not powerful enough to tackle issues like the very poor training of policeofficers, their racism and the blue wall of silence. And now perhaps the Army has to restore peace and law and order because a failing police force is incapable of doing that. And that's simply because they are the evil that people are protesting against.

Don't care. At this point the protesters are enabling the far left activist to incite riots and provide cover for the looters. When roaming bands of thugs are beating and stealing from innocent people and you are enabling them then you are no better and equally responsible. It won't take much more of this type of activity for regular people to begin to beg for Trump to declare Marshall Law. And he will give it to them. And no one will give a f*** about protesters being smacked around because people want order. That's exactly what you don't want. But you'll get it.

Good on her!! There are hardly any police officers who are willing, and brave enough, to call out their “blue brothers”. The policing system is basically an organized crime syndicate in so many ways.

He's disgusting. This has become so much more than a race issue. Its about Humanity regardless of colour, race, religion, gender. We are all made of the same Stuff, we all bleed red. This what happens when you have a POTUS who is racist, sexist, ignorant and arrogant.

Because of the pandemic, people are bored and looking for purpose. No one is handling this situation well.

But would have she under different circumstances? Easy to stand up now with a massive crowd behind her.. or yell at him for putting all them officers at risk due to them being outnumbered, but if that wasn’t done where it was done, infront of all those people - would’ve she still called him out..?

She looks like she doesn't take any b******t no matter what. He was pretty intimidated by her and presumably he knows her. That doesn't really matter though, what does matter is that she did stand up to him and it was the right thing to do. She nailed it.

But it's okay for the same cops being pelted by god-knows-what. Looks to me like he was trying to escape an angry mob?

This happens when you pay sh*t to employees in public service. More and more "rotten apples"...

Stop watching mainline media, look for thousands of other videos out there showing the actual protesters stopping the looters!
