Whistleblower Of One Of The Biggest US Health Insurance Companies Comes Clean About Lying To People In A Viral Twitter Thread
In February 2019, a study named Medical Bankruptcy: Still Common Despite the Affordable Care Act was published online on the American Journal of Public Health. The study’s conclusions looked more than grim: according to the article, more than half a million bankruptcies filed annually are because of debt accrued because of a medical illness. The authors of the study found that even the Affordable Care Act (usually referred to as Obamacare) wasn’t able to change the atrocious proportion of bankruptcies caused by medical debts. Poor health insurance was named as one of the main reasons behind it. So why are the US politicians so afraid of changing the status quo that’s hurting millions of Americans? The answer is simple and is always the same: money.
Wendell Potter – a former VP of an insurance company CIGNA – has dubbed himself a “whistleblower and reformed insurance propagandist.” In a now-viral Twitter thread, Wendell has come clean about the dirty games the insurance company he worked for was playing. “Lately I’ve noticed some Democratic politicians defending the current healthcare system by saying it preserves “choice” for Americans,” he starts the thread. “As a former health insurance exec who helped draft this talking point, I need to come clean on its back story, and why it’s wrong and a trap.” Scroll down below to read all of it and don’t forget to tell us what you think in the comment section down below.

CIGNA is one of the best-known health insurance companies in the United States. It boasts about having a large network of physicians and hospitals all around the country. The company even hired A-list celebrities like Queen Latifah and Nick Jonas to feature in their latest marketing campaign. Wendell Potter resigned from his vice president position in CIGNA in 2008.

Share on FacebookI just re-signed up for Obama-care. On one hand, I'm really grateful to have insurance, because I went years without it because it was far too expensive before Obama-care. On the other hand, there isn't much choice between plans, deductibles, etc. It still sucks, I'd still have to pay more than i could possibly afford if something catastrophic happened. But at least I have insurance. And screw the politicians who seem to be representing big pharm instead of the needs of the people. Private insurance, lol. I've looked into that too. It's much worse than Obama-care.
So he was okay with getting rich while destroying the country, but now he's a whistleblower?
It's simple logic - if health insurance was worth having it wouldn't be profitable to insurers. It's a huge scam. Sadly, it's a scam you can't opt out of because the US health Care system is built around it. Hospitals know they can charge exorbitant prices because insurance will pay. Insurance pays as little as they can get away with. The public stuffers twice.
Doctors, former pharma execs, current and former health insurance execs, people from nations with universal health care and people who have been shafted by the medical industry have spoken, told the public how corrupt the system is, how easily it can be fixed...yet Americans will still put blinders on and believe the politicians! Quit being fooled by the greedy policy makers that most likely have a financial stake in the Healthcare industry or are getting huge kickbacks from that industry! People are dying because of their greed!!
It's interesting that people vote based on what politicians say, instead of actually looking into what they represent. Democrats are taxing Americans into the ground, and yet people keep putting money hungry, self serving Dems into positions where they can self serve.
I love how so many people say they just don't trust politicians but totally take their word for things.
Load More Replies...I don't feel I have much of a "choice" now. I recently had abdominal surgery, there were 2 types of surgeries available to treat the condition but my insurance company would only pay for one of them, so that's not really a choice, is it?
