Guy Tries To Sell His Truck Online, Regrets It After These Texts From The Worst Buyer Ever
If you ever tried selling anything online, you know that things can go south very quick. Some potential buyers go out of their way to get a better deal, often not even asking, but simply demanding the seller to knock down prices to absurd levels. One such interaction was shared by an internet user all_american_angel and details some of the horrors all internet sellers dread. As they were trying to sell their Ford truck, one person showed interest, but things slowly devolved into a complete mess. “I honestly think I was trolled” they speculated. “In the seller’s defense I may be asking too much. I deleted my ad and I may keep the truck for a while. I want to make sure I’m not ripping anyone off” they added. Scroll down below to read the full exchange and tell us what you think!

Misogynist douche bag? Insecure Micro peen? Failed at Male-hood? The choices are a many! ;)
Load More Replies...Honestly this is nothing out of the ordinary once you're selling in a certain budget range. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to cars, so I've sold many sub-$2000 cars. No matter what the asking price, I would always get a few offers in the 30-50% range. They also like to say "CASH," such as "I'll give you $400 CASH right now," as if it's worth more than a bank transfer. Still, my biggest peeve is the most common message: "What's the lowest you will take?" , which translates to "I'm too lazy/dumb to haggle, can you haggle yourself for me?" One useful piece of information, though: 100% of people who CALL instead of text are serious, interested, capable buyers. A phone call offer of $1000 is worth more than 10 text offers of $1500
I like to respond to “what’s the lowest you will take?” with “what’s the most you will offer?”
Load More Replies...I live in Sweden. Once, I sold a truck. A guy phoned and wanted to buy it. He would come from Åland (another country - a ferry and 200 km away). When he came, it all looked good. I had mailed lots of pictures and a list of problems beforehand, so all seemed to be in order. Then the guy said something like "its good with diesel, since they wont drink more then 7 litre/100 km". So I answered "no way. A car like this need more like 12 litre/100 km". The guy was dumbfounded and thought I wasnt serious. He har a friend with a brand new truck that only drank the figure he mentioned. So I told him that a New truck may come down to those numbers, if your grannie drives it no more then 50 km/hour. But this is an old truck and they were thirsty. This made him back down for the deal. Before we parted, I avsked him if be hadnt Google the model to see consumption, common problems etcetera before going to a different country to buy a car. The guy admitted he hadnt thought of it.
This is sad and funny at the same time. I’ve been selling things online for a couple of months. Not only will people not respond back after I tell them that “yes, the item is available”. Then there are the people when must think it’s their duty to haggle over the price. I’ve said “NO!” to more than one rude individual and donated the item for a tax write-off instead.
I've seen a few of these types of interactions. I think it may be a trend to troll people on Craigslist or the like.
I have been a bargainer since I was was a child (im 11) since I got a 30 dollar dell XP computer for only 5 dollars! But then asking for so much like a car for almost half the cash cut off is just awful! There are other cars that are worth 2,000
We had a similar thing when we sold my late father's house. We advertised a price range and got a few offers in the mid-range. Then came the idiot offering well under the lowest price. He claimed that the other offers were from people who did not know what they were doing and he was the only "real" prospect of us selling the house. He kept calling even after he had been told to get lost in rather impolite terms.
Totally amazing how she thought you had to compromise your position to accommodate her problem
