Guy Films A Hilarious Apartment Tour For His Letting Agent After Being Forced Out Of It By The Landlord, Doesn’t Let Any Problem Go Unnoticed

What do you do when your landlord basically forces you to move out? You go viral on the internet by posting a hilarious video! That’s exactly what actor Sandy Batchelor did. In the video, he listed all the problems that the apartment he’s being forced out of has, from mold on the ceilings and problematic appliances to wacky doors. And let’s not forget the rat and the ghost problems.

Sandy is originally from Kinross, in Scotland, and he’s being kicked out of his rented apartment in Catford, in South London.

According to the actor, his letting agent wanted him to help them find his replacement by filming a video. So he put his spin on it and told the world the truth in the video that got more than 6.8 million views on Twitter. It also got 349.3k likes and 79.2k retweets and caught the attention of the media, especially in the UK.

Sandy posted a funny video and showed everyone all the things that are wrong with the apartment he’s being kicked out of

Some of the other problems that Sandy had to deal with living in this apartment include having garbage bins just outside the living room window (imagine the smell in Summer), crooked shelves, a fireplace that doesn’t work, and a kitchen extractor fan that’s almost as loud as a jet.

The actor also posted hilarious signs all over the apartment saying how the new tenants would hate it here and warning them of the ghost that’s supposedly haunting the place. It’s no wonder that Sandy’s doing this: the dryer doesn’t work properly, the doors are busted, the floor’s uneven. Absolutely anyone would lose patience having to live here.

He’s even planning to take all the plants in the garden with him when he leaves because he and his flatmates were the ones responsible for cleaning the backyard up. The garden also has three separate fences and they make the place look ramshackle—you wouldn’t think that this was in London if you didn’t know.

Sandy still hasn’t lost his sense of humor even though he has to move out. He uploaded a video where he filmed a ‘thieving’ squirrel sliding down a bird feeder that he greased.

People absolutely loved Sandy’s hilarious video and enjoyed the sneaky posters he put up throughout the apartment

Maybe I missed it, but the reason why the boy was forced to leave the apartment is not explained.

End of lease and landlord not willing to renew? From what I've seen on TV it's very hard in the UK to evict tenants, even when they fail to pay rent. Landlords have to get court orders to evict them and tenants manage to drag that process out for several years without paying any rent. BUt you're right, they didn't mention why and how they were "forced out".

It all depends on the price and the comparison people are making (some say the flat is nice some say it's bad), so it can be either way. I'd guess he was paying more than what would be fair for those problems (like paying extra for having a fireplace and washer/dryer, while they don't/barely work)

Interesting that he kept referring to what was likely a grown man (several different) as 'boy'. That shows a lack of respect for fellow humans in my book. Even when people do a bad job on something don't call them 'boy' really!

Why not? If you don't behave in a decent way, why should other people respect you?

I don't get why they would be asked to help if they were being forced out... something doesn't quite add up.

People are very weird sometimes. My former boss asked me to find a replacement when I left. I left because he was a real a*****e, turned up drunk some days, the salary was absolutely s**t and he had been promising for over a year that he was going to change my contract to full time and never did. I was teaching far more than 40 hours/weeks, plus preparing the classes, and dealing with customers and telephone calls when the admin staff went for coffee.

In big cities you will find tenants even if you rent a dog kennels. Housing is very expensive and dreadful. In some areas in Spain dome people are renting out balconies or corridors as if they were rooms. Maybe the landlord decided he could get more money with a new tenant. Maybe the tenant demanded some repairs.

I honestly don't see anything extremely wrong with the flat, the guy is just being petty. I'm living in London and rats and mice are everywhere so that's nothing out of the ordinary, also I've seen flats in much worse conditions being let out, no problem. Also, according to UK housing law, a landlord can't evict you for no reason, so I'm guessing the lad fell behind on rent.

My sympathies to the guy but these are not serious problems. I had people doing crack on my apartment rooftop, cockroaches, months with no gas, Airbnb guests flooding the apartment above, two washing machines for forty apartments.... He’d last two minutes in New York.
