Hmm... I saw this and thought caramel(?) cake with coconut water froth and green frosting. Then I read the comment about the dirty sponge. Stopped wanting to taste it almost immediately.

Ugh. I don't think I could stomach this. There really IS a line for me when it comes to what is appetizing and what isn't thankfully.
Nope. I must say the "soap suds" and "dirty dish water" are a clever touch, but I'll pass. ;)
Some vegetarian foods also mimic real meats. Just to be more creative i guess which is good. One day people will mimic pork on chicken meat for those who dont eat pork i believe.

In my home town there was a candy maker that made "stone candy" that looked exactly like polished rocks. We used to buy a handful, then head over to a mineralist shop, put the stones in the bins of similar rocks and wait for other customers. When someone would wander up to the bin, we would come by, pick up a "stone" and pop it in our mouths. It was funny until some kid broke a tooth emulating us. Whoops.

The chef is creative and talented. Imagine a ridiculously looking food that tastes incredibly good! Perfect Juxtaposition!
If I lived in the vicinity of this chef I would save up until I had devoured every last morsel of every one of these wondrous creations. Once a month I would treat myself to a once in a lifetime event.
That's impressive! The issue is that in some there is too much gel and unnatural stuffs that help create the illusion, and I don't want to eat that. But still very impressive and some give ideas of possible presentation
