Video Footage Shows Dog Accidentally Starting His Owner’s Car And Driving In Circles For An Hour

Whenever we’re feeling down, the doggos of the Internet are here to help us see the silver linings in this world. This time, an exceptional black Lab is up to the task with its little venture in driving the car in reverse for almost an hour! Sounds exciting already, doesn’t it? Well, how else could it be when it’s happening in Florida? As some people already noticed, the ‘Florida man’ pun could be considered to be upgraded to a ‘Florida dog’ after this little stunt!

This car was seen driving in circles in reverse in Florida

While it surely seemed odd, one thing that no one expected was that it was actually being driven by a dog!

While Port St. Lucie, Florida is the most populous municipality in the county, the area this took place in is usually pretty quiet, so it really caused a stir when some people in the neighborhood noticed a car going in circles.. in reverse… for an hour.

This black Labrador hijacked his owner’s running car and drove it around in circles like a real pro

One of the residents of the neighborhood, Anne Sabol, told CNN, “At first I thought I saw somebody backing up, but then they kept going, and I’m like, ‘OK, what’re they doing?'” After a while, the police came in but only stood and observed the scene from a distance. While on this peculiar circular ride, the car hit several trash cans and a mailbox but other than that, no damage was done. After that, it slowed down enough for the police to open its door. To everyone’s surprise, out of the driver’s seat jumped a large black Labrador retriever.

The only damage done was to some unsuspecting trash cans and a mailbox

It sure seemed weird to everyone seeing this but it later turned out that the dog’s owner left his car running in the street and the clever doggo pulled this stunt by switching gears into reverse and somehow put it in a circular motion. We’re not sure about others in the neighborhood but Anne Sabol sure was impressed by this doggo’s driving skills. “They should give that thing a license,” she said. Well, let’s hope not only the people but the dog had much fun in this as well!

People not only found the humor in this situation but they also admired the Lab’s intelligence

Poor dog. I guess the owner left the car running because of the AC but still I wouldn't leave my dog in a car for hours.

They may have left it running because he forgot something so may have had to quickly run back inside his house.

Funny, but also grossly irresponsible of the car/dog owner. It could have ended very badly.

What an irresponsible owner, to leave their dog like that. And in an automatic car too! Would they leave their child like this in the heat and in a car that practically drives itself?

Get a cat! This will never happen with a cat. Remember; cat are great, smart, nice,... And they don't drive your car for no reason! 😻😻😻

No cats would drive your car for a reason. They would plot it out, wait for their moment and then take off.

Usually when dogs are left in the car, they just honk the horn. This guy thought outside the box.

Stay weird Florida, stay weird. I’m just baffled while nobody called the police earlier considering that this was going on for an hour!

Um, who knew it was for an hour? Whoever took the video, couldn't say anything like TELLING THE OWNER?? OR was it the owner that took the video? Yeah, I don't think this is cute at all. Not worried about the dog, worried about the people that live around there!

I can believe the dog accidentally put the car in gear, but no way did a dog start that car! That's a late 90's Mercury Sable with an ignition switch on the dash that requires the key being turned, things I have never seen a dog manage.
