Folks Online Criticize Florence Pugh’s Body After She Wore A Revealing Gown, She Claps Back At All The Haters

Florence Pugh was caught rocking a stunning pink gown at the Valentino Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2022-23 fashion show in Rome – however, internet trolls were quick to judge the actress’ choice of attire. As it turns out, people (mainly men) weren’t that pumped about the nipple-baring dress – although, is this really a surprise?

If you’re a man, chances are you don’t even notice your nipples; I mean, why would you? You’re allowed to stroll around half-naked without worrying about catching the disapproving glances of passersby, whereas women are left to deal with “offended” folk who can’t go a day without having to objectify or/and sexualize an ordinary body part.

To this day, our society considers women’s bare chests to be obscene and offensive

“Why are you so scared of breasts?” – the Little Women actress turned to Instagram to clap back at those who’ve spent their time swamping her with body-shaming comments, simply because they couldn’t handle a little breast. The message has received over 2 million likes and was acknowledged by fellow colleagues such as Jameela Jamil, Aubrey Plaza and Joey King.

Florence Pugh took to social media to clap back at body-shaming remarks she received after wearing a sheer dress

The woman began her post by saying that she knew that the Valentino dress was going to provoke commentary, be it negative or positive. Pugh was excited to wear the gown and nothing about it made her nervous.

She remarked that what’s been interesting to watch was how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body proudly and publicly – moreover, what’s surprising is that some didn’t even bother to conceal their job titles/work emails that they so proudly included in their bios.

The actress then mentioned that this isn’t the first time, or the last, that a woman has received derogatory comments about her body from a bunch of internet strangers – however, what’s worrying is just how “vulgar” some of the men can be.

Disgustingly enough, many felt the need to announce how disappointed they were by Pugh’s chest; although the woman fired back, saying that she’s fully aware of her anatomy and is not scared of it.

What concerned the actress the most was how afraid people seem to be of breasts. It made her wonder what happened to those individuals who seem to be so intent on being this upset about her body.

Florence later added that she’s incredibly grateful for growing up in a household with very strong, powerful, and curvy women.

Florence revealed that it has always been her mission to do whatever she feels right whenever anyone expects her body to “morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive.”

The star then sternly encouraged those who’re oblivious to grow up and learn to respect people, bodies, and humans in general, saying that their lives will get a whole lot easier.

Nipples aren’t the problem, individuals who sexualize women’s bodies are

Most netizens, whether they’re Pugh’s supporters or not, shared their comforting thoughts regarding the whole controversy around the sheerness of the Valentino gown.

For instance, some said that if you’re making a big deal about it, then you should seriously reconsider your life approaches, as you’re definitely overreacting.

Everyone has nipples – your next-door neighbor, your mother… Even the Queen of England is no exception.

Let’s learn to de-sexualize the female breast

A Twitter user called @charliewattsons, on the other hand, shared how she wished that she had someone like Florence Pugh to look up to while she was growing up.

The woman said that it’s wild how she’s looking up to someone who’s around her age that she doesn’t even know personally. She remarked that she was always surrounded by people who had something negative to say about her body.

It’s extremely unsettling that social media can be both harmful and somewhat empowering – however, if you’re ever feeling low, don’t hesitate to reread Pugh’s #freethenip message to remind yourself of just how much of a strong and beautiful woman you are.

That has always blown my mind! Like, some of the most popular movies in the world are about creatively dismembering and murdering humans (the saw franchise), and yet a nipple or penis is a disgusting perversion? There's something wrong with a society that sees nothing wrong with glorifying horrific death, but demonizes sexuality and human body parts.

The headline above is: "Let’s learn to de-sexualize the female breast." As a heterosexual male, I am really having trouble understanding. I know all you will down-vote me to oblivion of my stupidity, but if I told my wife that I found her breasts unsexy, she would be rather hurt. Isn't the whole bathing suit, lingerie thing about looking sexy? I am really confused. Are we suposed to just turn it off and on. This boob is sexy, that boob is not sexy? I think the idea is something like: Think and feel however you like but don't stare and keep your hands and comments to yourself. Women should be able to walk around bare chested like men are able enjoy without harassment or critical commentary. You know, the whole equal rights thing that we have yet to fully achieve...

Any bastard who feels the need to publicly insult someone’s body is just the worst kind of person. It’s awful in every regard. Maybe they’re already self conscious and you make them feel worse. Maybe they’re proud and you’re making them doubt it. Maybe they weren’t even thinking about how they look, and now you specifically want them to feel bad about it. What is wrong with these people? I sincerely hope that Florence Pugh, who is clearly badass and beautiful, is as unbothered as she says she is by this awfulness.

I've always wondered why it is ok for men to expose their chests while women have to cover them. If I can walk on the beach or at a pool topless, why can't women? Is men should cover up. Our chests are useless. We can't even feed a baby. Free the nipple.

Appropriate on the red carpet? Well, it's certainly not unheard of -- plenty of women have worn sheer dresses at gala events before. And I think she looks great. But I have to take issue with the oft-heard phrase "stop sexualizing breasts". Breasts, particularly the nipple, are an erogenous zone. So they're already 'sexualized' and there's nothing anyone can do about that. Ladies wanna go topless on beaches and such, because men can? That's all fine, but you can't just suddenly decide that breasts and nipples should not be considered sexual. That's ingrained in men, and, from what I understand, the many women who appreciate the female form, as well. You're basically saying, "Stop being attracted to this body part!" Nobody can change what they are and are not attracted to. What we can change is how we react and comment on such things, and the kind of commentary Pugh was getting is reprehensible, and should, of course, be called out.

The only difference between her nipples and mine, I need medical intervention in the form of estrogen injections to produce milk. There is no functional difference between male and female nipples. Both are erogenous zones. As for the size of her breasts... WHO CARES! Some prefer tiny titties, some prefer humongous hooters. What is "socially" preferred seems to change every 10 years. THE MODEL in the 60's (Twiggy?) had something like 'A' cups. 20 years later the North American ideal is suddenly a 'D' cup. The most vocal of the idiots (male) slamming beautiful people for not being thier ideal are likely compensating for personal lackings - and I'm not talking about waist lines or CV health...

Gotta disagree here. As a guy, the only time I feel anything in my nipples is when I've been jogging and they start to get chafed from rubbing against the inside of my shirt. Other than that, as far as trying to get me worked up by touching or sucking my nipples, a woman may as well be playing with my elbow.

I cannot understand why people would be afraid of seing tits or breast. If so YEAH it's weird, and the sexualisation of breast could be the issue. Humbly, my feelings say "i'm not at ease with nudity" whichever gender or identity is concerned. I am happy to have my vip area for my loved one, I feel physical and spiritual intimacy are a big deal. Then again, it's clear everyone is in charge of their vip area. However, I feel weird when I sense some perv is drooling over other people's body when they did not intend to be drooled at. You may think my feelings are possessive or toxic. Yet i feel the same about "soûl nudity". Anyway, my point is getting clumsy ☺️. Bottom line is: yes there are pervs, haters, trolls, but please do not assume that people being critical on this topic fall in these three catogories. Please do not assume they are afraid of tits. There are as many types of tits on this planet as there are types of people.

I have to disagree with the nipples argument, although I do think it's disgusting for men to try and embarrass her over her chest size. My issue while wearing a see through top gives those jerks the glimpse they wanted in their minds they've won bc they saw her boobs. I mean, it's not like seeing a nipple changes the size of a breast.

The fact is, women's breast are different than men's. But for sake of argument, let's say they are the same. I would still think it was inappropriate if a man went shirtless or wore a mesh shirt at an event. Save this argument for the beach where men actually walk around baring their nipples.

1. It was appropriate for the event. It's very obvious you don't go to fashion shows, and that's fine, but this was not inappropriate. 2. Yes, women's breasts are different than men's in that they can be used to feed children. Despite this difference, they are not there for YOU because you are not a baby and she is not your mom. Nipples on women are the same as nipples on men, because men grow them in the womb before that chromosome kicks in. Hope this helps.

I was SHOCKED to see this young woman with her BOSOMS out for the WORLD to see. I was TERRIFIED of the fact that her NIPPLES might be cold! Keep slaying, Florence

She looks great. If she had larger breasts they would need support trust me. She's lucky not to be uncomfortable without a bra.

These are the most uncensored nipples I think I've ever seen on Bored Panda.

Some people will do anything for attention, doesn't matter if it's good or bad, they just want attention.

I have to disagree with the nipples argument, although I do think it's disgusting for men to try and embarrass her over her chest size. My issue while wearing a see through top gives those jerks the glimpse they wanted in their minds they've won bc they saw her boobs. I mean, it's not like seeing a nipple changes the size of a breast.

other people are happy to see it and other people wants to show it. your body, your choice. as long as it is not a family place, where there are kids.

She is a tacky, attention-seeking narcissist. She doesn't deserve the dress. I'm more offended by her choice of cheap accessories and that hideous hair color than her stupid boring nipples. Next
