Two Guys Went Fishing But Ended Up Catching Abandoned Kittens
220Kviews
When Jason Frost and Brandon Key went fishing on the Black Warrior river in Alabama, they had no idea what they might catch. They never imagined that it would turn into a “cat-fishing” trip, which is exactly what happened when they rescued two kittens that swam out from shore to seek safety on their boat.
“Y’all are not gonna believe what is swimming towards our boat. A kitten,” Frost says in his now-viral video of the kittens’ ordeal. Though wet and terrified, the kittens are good swimmers and they seem grateful for the rescue. In the video, Frost guesses that they were abandoned there by their previous owners.
After reaching dry land, Frost and Key met a family that fell in love with the kittens and adopted them.

You are a true hero!
those poor little babies. takes a coward to dump a defenseless animal especially baby ones.so glad those little ones were rescued & the joy on the guys face finding thing says it all.
Nobody really knows that, it could have just been kittens born to a stray cat that either died or got separated from these two... probably stuck on that little isle when waters rose?
Looks to me like they`re pretty used to people .....They wouldn`t go near you if they were born wild ....
I don't think so they were feral, since they swam straight toward the boat and the people.
Those kittens looked pretty socialized with humans and look only about 6 to 8 weeks. They swam towards them with no fear or hesitation. I had/still have a feral cat living in my yard for over a year now. When she had kittens (3 litters) it took us months each time to get them to warm up to us. (they've all been adopted out and she's fixed now) It's taken us longer for her to warm up since she's lived her whole life without people. These kittens were either lost or dumped there. I highly doubt they're feral.
can't be stray cats, they would not come to humans like they did. they know and trust humans, thats clear by their behavior, poor things.....
awww - poor darlings. Love the joy on the guys face as he rescues them x
Amazing! What sweet guys! They're girlfriends should be so proud to have a man with such empathy to animals
Those precious babies would risk swimming in the lake instead of dealing with what ever is in the woods...
Didrik they check for more kittens on that Island?
Who on earth would try to hurt kittens??
You guys are my heroes! Thank you for rescuing them and finding a good home for these little brave soldiers!
Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!! May God bless you!!!!! :D
Poor babies, they were so desperate for human help, the swam a long way to get to you! Bless you for saving them!
I don't know if these guys are single, but there are probably women lining up to date them now! So sweet to rescue an animal in distress.
I hope they didn't have any more brothers and sisters left behind... beautiful little babies... there are some good people in the world too...
I hope there aren't any more stranded there. What kind of jerk does this =(
You are one of the true good people in this world
are you kidding, can't see the video because Empty Flask ENT put a copyright claim on it.. how nice...
I hope they have found a good home now .. they are very friendly
Poor kittens. They look really grateful to be rescued
Awww, so cute doing the "kitty paddle" toward the boat! They instinctively knew these were "good guys" that would help them, unlike the scum that threw them out there. Four paws up & *paw bumps* to these wonderful men!
Great work guys ....
That's a hell of a long way for kittens to swim...something doesn't jive.
Ive seen cats swim before but didn't know they'd jump in on their own, could swim so fast, or why they headed for that boat....anazing! thank goodness he is a kind, caring man!
Thank you so much for caring and taking them in, many would not have!!! God Bless!!
i'm crying now...poor baby kittens, so proud of you guys, thank you!!!!
I wonder where they swam FROM. That's a long damn swim for a kitten. Something strange about this...
So glad it was those two guys that found the kittens instead of another cat-hater like the ones that abandoned them!
They must've known humans otherwise they wouldn't have jumped off the island and swam towards these good guys! The animals know who is good, I'm so glad they were able to share it with us!
God bless them! Sweetest, most down to earth thing I've seen in a while. :) Made me so happy. Did they check the Island for more though?
I'm sure glad they were in the right place at the right time to help these sweet babies!
The boat most likely had a motor, and that would not only scare the kitten coming towards them, but also the kitten on the boat with them.
You guys did good. Way to go!
who ever left them was a very bad person. did you keep the cats ?
My heroes ! can you post pictures of your new Kittens today?
Total awesomeness.
Those kittens r so cute
OMG thank you for saving them!!
They one who abandoned them to the river probably didn't realize they coudl swim. I'm so glad they found a new human to replace the dirt-bag.
God bless you!
Now these 2 guys are TRUE HERO'S
Thank God for good people who do the right thing even if its not convenient for them on their trip. I am so happy these sweet beautiful babies are safe and have a great forever home now. You gentlemen are truly wonderful heroes! I know my husband would have done the same thing to help them too!
And 'tis said that big husky guys don't like tabby cats! Yeah! Right!
Someone dumped them or they'd be feral and not all loved and confident. I hate when people do such cruel things...
brought tears to my eyes
wow .. that brought tears to my eyes
thats really nice of them to rescue the little kittens
BEST. FISHING TRIP. OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!
What do I think? I think this shows the dichotomy of the animal-human experience. Asshole dumps two lovely kittens. Two kittens save themselves by SWIMMING to a boat where they know a human is....humans, who cared for then dumped them. Trusting sweet kittens! These men are awesome!!!
Well isn't that something! Very sweet <3
poor kittens, they probably were so wet! Hope that they are fine now! The guy is really great! He has done a great did Liz from http://www.bestehandyspion.com/
They're undersize you have to throw them back....lol
are you kitten me
Thanks those supermen !)
awww so cute!
Heros! Saving them babies like that!!! WTG boys!
i'm crying now...poor baby, thank you guys..
Umm, not sure about this... At all...
How can people be so cruel!! These guys did a wonderful thing saving their lives!!!
God works in mysterious ways you had to be at the right place at the right time for those little babies to get the guts to jump in that water and swim to you amazing. I hope you guys went over and check to make sure there wasn't one other one that was scared to get in the water that would really suck if there was some more
They swim a lot better than I thought they would.
Too adorable. I'm glad they were rescued.
Lovely guys...the kittens chose them to be saved by.
Did they fake this in order to have a video go viral? That's a long way. Why didn't they move the boat closer?
the same thing crossed my mind; in today s age, you start distrusting everyone, it s a bit sad but true
You guys are awesome
Well, was there some good reason these guys couldn't row their boat over to the kittens, so they wouldn't have to swim so far, for goodness sake!
Probably worried that the sound of the engine or the motion of the waves, even if the engine was off, would startle the kitty. Even if they had paddles, the motion of the water, could have causing him to panic and flail around dangerously. I think the way they handled it was best, especially since the 2nd kitten purrfectly followed the first kitten's trail!
I have to wonder why they didn't go toward either kitten to help. Doesn't Alabama have alligators?
Those sweet babies...I'm glad they're okay, and now have a family that loves them. Those guys deserve an award!
its really cool they saved them but one thing bothers me. Why they waited for the second kitty to come instead going for him with boat ?
The boat likely had a very loud motor which might scare him.
Or they didn't want to cause a small wave and make the kitten go under? Who knows why they didn't but we should just be happy these guys saved a baby animals life.
And I also agree with what SarahCook said below & what I was thinking, they didn't want to cause waves.
Bravoooo
What ass would leave tiny kittens out there where they would end up killed by some animal most likely??
They need to leave before more come lol. So sweet!
I think he's a great guy...I hope he keeps them, I think it was meant to be!
I see a lot of people calling these guys heroes, what y'all expect? That they were going to hold their heads down in the water or pick them up and eat them on the spot?... Of course the suspicious one in me believes these guys threw them in the water and started filming when they were swimming back, does their video on YT have ads???
Hopefully they will extend their compassion and kindness to fish, too. Science has shown that they, too, feel fear and pain. They also deserve our protection and respect.
