Russian fisherman Roman Fedortsov's twitter account is flooded with photos of the most bizarre deep-sea creatures ever. The man behind the camera works on a fishing trawler in Murmansk (extreme northwest of Russia) and uses his phone to document the scary creatures that get pulled in the fishing nets. Some argue that the strange fish look like something from a horror movie. However, Fedortsov shows no signs of fear when handling these weird sea animals and even adds some sense of humor to his tweets.

The pictures invoked some controversy and backlash with arguments such as deep sea creatures should be left alone. Many of the deep-sea fishes die because of the change of pressure when brought to the surface, and this raises the question of whether they should be killed just for the sake of a sensational tweet. Plus, after seeing such scary fish for the first time, people are afraid humans would destroy the delicate ecosystem of the mysterious ocean floor beings.

This is a redfish (uer in norwegian). The eyes pops out when it's dragged from the bottom of the ocean due to the difference in pressure. Quite tasty, but have sharpe bones.

Sea Cucumbers. They look nicer than they are. Those tentacles actually have really fine filaments as they are deposit feeders. In water those would be spread out like a net or better yet roots, drifting in the current, to filter anything edible. You'd likely mistake them for some kind of coral reef plant if you saw it in its habitat. It's Psolus phantapus specifically. Oh and some species of Sea cucumbers are a delicacies or common food items in many places somehow connected to the ocean (Spain, France, Portugal, Hawaii, and much of East and Southeast Asia have them on the menu somewhere).

it must of been very painful for these guys to be pulled up all the way from the bottom. I'm a diver and going up to the surface is painful unless you do it slowly because of the pressure. these creatures insides must be smashed. similar to humans being dragged high up in the air really fast.
