French-Canadian artist Steven Spazuk has tamed fire. For the past 15 years, Spazuk has perfected a technique called fumage. He uses flames as pencils to create spectacular paintings which always have an element of surprise: a sudden blow of wind, a slight shiver of hand… That’s, according to Spazuk, is the soul of his creative process that makes every piece unique.
