Bag On Berlin Metro: ‘This Text Has No Other Purpose Than To Terrify Those Who’re Afraid Of The Arabic Language’
Just recently, journalist Nader Al-Sarras was riding the metro in Berlin, when he spotted this bag designed by Rock Paper Scissors. It reads: “This text has no other purpose than to terrify those who are afraid of the Arabic language”. Genius, huh? Nader thought so too, so he took a picture and posted it to Facebook. It has gone viral since, with over 35k likes and 15k shares.

Share on FacebookConsindering what gernany has been though recently, I find this inappropriated. But thats just me.
Considering what Germany did in the past, I find German inappropriate anywhere - but that's just me being facetious because what you said is incredibly ignorant.

I think it should be reciprocate. Anyway, I was not suggesting to change cultures and adapt entirely to the refugees. Neither was I suggesting an "Arabification" of Germaany. I was simply suggesting using education as means of fighting back and knowing whom to fight amd whom you're fighting. Just this.
Load More Replies...The whole point of the bag is that being afraid of language is just dumb. Being afraid of people because of their religion is even dumber. Rather be afraid of the crazy people - they are the terrorists and and their language and/or belief is actually of no consequence, just something they hide behind to validate their own pathetic view of what they think the world should be like.
Load More Replies...If they've accepted them... why would they be afraid of their language? Can't be both.
Load More Replies...Why would people need to be afraid about a arabic text? Are you afraid of chinese characters tatoo?...This is called irony, if you don't catch the joke I believe all hopes are lost...
so...... how exactly does this help the current situation? it it no way educates or improves. For those that don't read Arabic (which are most people)~ it's USELESS. Wouldn't it be better/ more entertaining if there was a "transalation" after the Arabic text?
Scan with an app and translate... The point is to "be afraid", until you find out what it means and then hopefully you will realise how stupid your fear was in the first place...
Load More Replies...Haha I find this sarcastic and hilarious. English-speaking people make massmurders too you know but nobody is afraid of english writing.. So you should stop being afraid of arabic because that doesn't equal terrorist. And the bag is a great reminder about it.
no it's not it's just being provocative in order to sell bags to SJW's. The left is being exploited by capitalists that want to make a quick buck out of their principles, remember all of those Che Guevara T-shirts?
Load More Replies...If you have a few Christian criminals, are you gonna say that all Christians are criminals? No, ofcourse not. Islamofobia NEEDS to stop.
How is it islamophobia when you fear the actual terrorism? Islamophobia needs to stop? How about terrorism needs to stop? If in your neighborhood 90% of crimes (assault, rape, murder, etc) is done by dudes that wear hoodies, isn't it obvious that people will pretty much fear and avoid dudes with hoods? Another example. If a town of 100k people with no religion (or other than christian to take your example) had only small non-violent crimes in the last 10+ years accepts 1000 people that are christian (accepts them without any fear and out of compassion) and then the crime rate exceeds any records (with brutal stabbings, murder, explosions and rape against the locals) don't you think it's kinda normal to start fearing and avoiding them? That right there is not islamophobia, it's simply fear of dying and spirit of conservation.
Load More Replies...Well said - but most people can't be bothered to use Google Translate, so it's just me and you... :) BTW - I am not Arab... xx
Load More Replies...What's the point? To continue to keep everyone separate? But I don't see how this bag's text would make anyone fearful anyway.
I think this is absolute genius and i snagged me not just one bag but 2!
fear of credible threat isn't irrational. A substantial number of arabic speakers are violence-inclined against the west.
If you say they are terrorists, that means that you associate Christians with the KKK, say black people are criminals, and germans hate Jews
So running around calling Allahu Akbar is pretty funny too huh? I mean just those afraid of the arabic language might get a scare, will they... -.-
Arabic is just as irrelevant with terrorism as clothes are. If a criminal would be wearing a forever 21 hoodie, will you blame forever 21 ?
Um, beg pardon, but I am NOT afraid of the Arabic language, however I am afraid of radicals and their baggage. This ploy is designed to stir up more hatred IMO, point fingers because Arabs aren't trusted in the civilized west (and they wonder why). Shame on the perpetrator.
By the way the English were pretty go on wiping out the buffaloes, so that American Indians would have no more food. The nice white people also handed out blankets infected with all sorts of diseases to the natives. Parked them in camps, with very poor soil, little water and stole all their land. By the way the American natives still live on reserves since their land has been stolen. White humans are the ultimate in wiping out populations when they want the land, petrol, or what ever. Iraq, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, well just can't name all what we have done to others. Sad long list of hate and war done on to others.
Wouldn't trying to make people scared makes things worse for you kind of perpetuating stereotypes?
In the 60s Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam) wrote, "I'm gonna get me a gun, and scare the s**t out of everyone." Who knew he only needed a bag. Of course, the bag wouldn't be scary if the murderous scum didn't do what they do. No one's scared of a bag that says Tesco or Aldi - yet. Not funny at all, not ironic or positively sarcastic either, and proves only that the designer has not experienced or witnessed, or gives a s**t about, the horrific, bloody, mutilating experience of a bomb. Idiot. Oh, and while I'm at it: the Allies were not at war with Germany, they were at war with Nazism. And, the Danish sailed to the shores of Great Britain and slaughtered men, women, and children. Grow up.
You intentionally try to stir up public reaction... then wonder why people are distraught after you get the reaction you WERENT looking for. It's called "stirring the pot".
Usual Islamic disrespect for the people that have invited them into their home .... Beyond sick of them
seeing the reaction of a lot of people here, apparently yes!
Load More Replies...This is a bit childish...and it will not change stereotypes or even xenophobia for good.
Okay, I do believe that the company who made these bags were in the wrong in producing them. It instills fear into the minds of people, who believe that Muslims are all Terrorists, which is most certainly not true at all.
so if it's not true, why fear them? (by the way, speaking arabic and been muslim is two different things, but let's not make things even more difficult for close minded people...). Yes that may be bad taste but at least it highlight the problem (included in my first question)
