Maybe half the police force in the US and many non developed countries. But not in most of the western world. We don't have a huge gun issue. EDIT: Since some people seem to have an issue of me only commenting on the gun part and not mentioning anything about domestic violence, well here is my stance. ANYONE who is a perpetrator of domestic violence deserve to be punished. The court system is an absolute joke in protecting victims and things need to change NOW. Too many people are dying at the hands of their "loved one" and something should have been done years ago. We keep hearing about perpetrators facing tougher punishments but it is yet to be seen. It is all talk and no action. And judges/parole board need to be held accountable for releasing repeat offenders. If the reoffender ends up killing someone, the judge/parole board have blood on their hands. Hopefully that satisfies some of you.

To the know it all who made a comment about nurse’s salaries, I use to work in collections for auto loans. A lot of nurses defaulted on their payments. I know this might come as a surprise but people, nurses have other bills to pay, many have children, and many are single mothers. Just because someone is a nurse doesn’t automatically equal wealthy.
For someone responsible for another's life at times, nurses are severely unpaid. They've never been wealthy from their job. Lawyers, accountants, company execs, even trash collectors who work overtime regularly earn more than nurses. (In the USA, that is)

I don't get the whole stigma surrounding OF. It's performance art, just like any other performance art. If you have aptitude and practiced skill, why not have people pay to appreciate it?
Doctors are overly paid to find out what makes patients sick. Then come the nurses who work their ars off to implement treatments, monitor progress or lack of and file reports so the doctors have something to work with. So you have someone who is well paid for seeing patients and the poorly paid who works on them till they're okay enough to be sent home.

Different types of nurses make different amounts. Registered nurse (degree/4 years education) makes a LOT more than a licensed practical nurse (lpn) (2 years I think diploma) in Canada because the expected responsibilities are different. If you have an LPN add in children and god forbid a single mom situation so child care as well while on 8 or 12 hour shifts and the expenses skyrocket on a starting wage in the $25/hour vs $38 an hour (I'm ball parking the exact amount since it varies by province). TLDR different nursing types make different $$. And I think I heard that the states is different between private and public

The captain of a small town police force refused to let an officer file a report acknowledging I was assaulted -- despite the hand shaped bruises and a note from the hospital explaining why they were certain I assaulted. As I was getting in my car he mocked my Warriors in Pink stickers. I looked him in the eye, "It is the breast cancer awareness group that got me through breast cancer." Jerk. Even with the report from the hospital and a lengthy report from the National Park Rangers, it was impossible to press charges. Willing to make a fool of myself to get attention, I did get a serious restraining order. He lived far away, we weren't married and didn't live together -- if this was difficult, imagine trying to file a report on your spouse. This was 2013. Important -- if law enforcement asks if you feel safe, be honest, no matter how uncomfortable it feels.
It is the good ole boys club. It is taking time for men to undnerstand they have to stop making excuses for unacceptable conduct.
