Bride-To-Be Accuses Photographer Of Fat-Shaming Her In Photos, But Photographer Has A Story Of Her Own
A bride-to-be claims she and her fiance got a lot more from their wedding photographer than they have bargained for. And not in a good way, either. Everything started when Katie Liepold turned to Facebook to hire a photographer for her May wedding. After receiving about 20 responses, the couple picked Tower Photography in Medina which offered an engagement photoshoot to go along with the wedding photos at the reception for $600. Including a free humiliating experience.
“Didn’t really need the engagement photos, but it was in the package so we did it,” Liepold told 5 News Cleveland. The shoot with photographer Linda Silvestri seemed to have gone well. “We laughed, we talked, we joked, we shared stories.”
When the couple’s photos were sent in, however, they noticed something was off. “This isn’t exactly what I thought I was going to get,” said Liepold. “She actually photoshopped one picture of us skinnier.” A side-by-side comparison of the original and the photoshopped images clearly reveal a dramatic change. “She probably took like 30 pounds off each of us.”
“That wasn’t asked for, and I just felt like that was really hurtful and my pictures weren’t good enough to be left alone,” Silvestri responded by telling Liepold she could cancel the contract. According to the bride-to-be, it wasn’t the end of the story. She claims that Silvestri left a hurtful rant on a Facebook page called Northeast Ohio Wedding Professionals Only. It started with “and people have wondered why I have scaled back my photography business.” “A whole big rant about how just that week she had a photoshoot with two morbidly obese individuals,” said Liepold. The post, which has been deleted, continued, “it is extremely difficult to get Pinterest worthy lovey-dovey pictures when people can’t even get their heads together.”
Silvestri refunded Liepold but kept the $150 deposit for spending two hours taking their engagement photos. “I didn’t pay her $150 for a body shaming rant on a site,” said Liepold.

Furious, people believe the photographer had no right to photoshop the images without the couple’s permission
Jesus Christ, look at the size of those dogs!!! It's one thing to be fat yourself, but what's your excuse for overfeeding your dogs?
I just thought the same. At least 2 of the dogs cannot even sit properly. I feel sorry for them.
Load More Replies...I feel sorry for the dogs. That weight is not healthy for them especially their joints. That makes me so sad.
Amazing, we feel bad for dogs more than humans. BTW I upvoted your comment.
Load More Replies...She shouldn't have shopped them like that, but that doesn't mean they're entitled to 100% refund. The whole point of a deposit is that it's non-refundable, no matter the results. She still put time and effort into the photos, and if they don't like the result that's fine but that doesn't mean they're owed anything else.
I’m missing the part where she makes fun of them though. She simply stated her side and the trouble she had. The photoshopped version doesn’t make them look drastically different. This couple really needs to toughen up and take a look at themselves (and their obese dogs). Sounds like they were a terror to work with.
Load More Replies...Wait wait wait... why is it not ok to mention that they're obese, but the comment about "skeleton" women was included? If fat shaming is not ok, why is skinny shaming? If he said "I prefer skinny girls over whales anyway" bored panda would have gone nuts.
Both are wrong. There's just no reason to make rude comments about anyone's weight. I feel like people who shame others for being too fat or too skinny are just miserable a******s.
Load More Replies...I'm sorry, but those photos don't look professional at all. There's no artistry, no study of the light or interesting framing. They look like anybody could have taken them with their phone. The only photoshopping the photographer should have done was correct the color, contrast, etc. She had no right no make them thinner without them asking to. When I got my wedding pics, the photographers didn't touch anything other than lighting, etc. I asked them to photoshop out two things: one picture where the big scar on my hand was clearly visible, and another one of the brown tears on my cat's face (he's chronically congested so his face gets dirty really quickly), lol.
A professional would have never charged 600 only, you get what you pay for, the reality is MOST if not All photographers would retouch photos, getting anything that is 3d and making it 2d changes how people look, that's why people don't look the same in pictures than in reallife most of the time. a good photographer would have been more subtle, removing the wrinkles in fabric instead diminishing the size of his belly, same thing for her but, and even way more hands-on using clothes pins to hold the clothes in good angles. they do sound ike a nightmare client, and the photographer is a relatively inexperienced one that charges pretty cheaply. it was the perfect storm. there's a lot that could have been done to improve this shots but not for 600 usd
Load More Replies...Not to fatshame, but objectively they are unhealthily huge by any definition. But the photographer handled it poorly.
I feel like saying what is factually true shouldn't count as "fat shaming". I agree, they are obese and they don't seem to want particularly professional-looking photographs, but I wouldn't air all my displeasure out on Facebook basically saying: "Look at this fat white trash, LOOK AT THEM!"
Load More Replies...Those are horrible as pictures. Looks like photos taken by any random person.
So true. If she charged $5000 for a shoot, she wouldn't have as many bad clients, but then again, she'd have to step up her game and invest in some skills and equipment.
Load More Replies...Photo editing is usually messing with lighting, color, etc. The fact that she took the time to photoshop the pictures to that magnitude thinking that it's part of editing just shows how unprofessional she is. Spot healing a blemish, removing stains from the dress- okay, but to alter the person's physical physique- she should have known she wasn't getting paid to do that.
Also, if you're paying under a $800 for a wedding photographer- you should be aware that you're getting a student or an unprofessional hobbyist.
Load More Replies...That photographer is a s****y photographer (and person!) to drastically edit the photos without being asked to and then to talk badly about her clients on social media when the clients were absolutely justified to be unhappy with the pictures. Shame on her.
If these were two thin people and this photographer acted this way, you'd all be tearing the photographer to bits. It's just because they're fat that you agree with the way the photographer acted. It's so strange to me that anyone would think it's okay for someone who runs a business to run their mouth about clients in a public forum, and the edit photos that weren't supposed to be edited. Can we try to remember that fat people are ACTUAL PEOPLE WITH FEELINGS and don't deserve scorn at every turn for how their bodies look?
She didn't run her mouth. They gave her a bad review online and she responded.
Load More Replies...We all know that being over weight is healthy, (but thank God the internet is here to remind us) .. they could be horribly under weight or have track marks or cut scars or an number of signs of being unhealthy, does that mean they can't have a photo taken for their wedding without judgement?
If someone had scars, the photographer would probably shop them out too. It was just one picture.
Load More Replies...that's horrible service! i hope she lost so many contract that she's lost that job! how could you be so mean at someone like that! Yeah she can think that but keep it to yourself
The photographer is so unprofessional! I would never air a grievance about a customer online for others to see. And people are only agreeing with her because they think it's okay to treat all fat people as less than human.
Load More Replies...I'm not saying they're stupid or anything like that but look at the dogs! They are so obese it's gross, I understand that they are overweight and I'm not trying to call them gross if whatever but at least feed your dogs better because they don't think like humans, they are yours to take care of and if you can't keep yourself average weight that's fine because I understand that it's hard and it's you who decides what you eat, but what's your excuse for the dog? The dogs aren't feeding themselves, you are! So it's your responsibility to make sure they don't end up like that since they can't make the decision on what they are fed.
Couldn't care less if you want to eat yourself to death, it's entirely your choice but why force that on your pets when they rely on you for a good life.
Humans are born innocent and can mostly choose what goes into their bodies, dogs are innocent and can't decide what food they get. It's not fair for the couple to over feed those otherwise cute dogs.
Load More Replies..."If she thought they were morbidly obese..."? That's a fact not a thought...
her job is to take pictures not to state her opinion!
Load More Replies...It definitely does sound like they were difficult customers to work with, but I don't understand her reasoning of photo-shopping their weight. She says its because they couldn't get their heads close together, but she shopped their mid region the most, and their heads are the same distance apart in the before and the after. Also, the photography skills shown here are lacking majorly. She did explain the truck picture, but what about the other ones? The lighting is off on all of them, and that is the photographers fault. Seems like both parties are at fault here, and yeah a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is just that, non-refundable. Also, for the record, I have seen many "pinterest worthy" couple pics with overweight people, so don't blame their weight for your lack of photography skills... also yes, there is NO excuse for having dogs that overweight!
Bad moves by the photographer. Should never have Photoshopped the pics without permission, and once she posted them and made rude comments, should have done the right thing and refunded in full. That said--For their own sake, I hope these two each lose some weight, as they are obviously in love and deserve a LONG, happy life together. I have nothing against heavy people, but that much weight simply isn't healthy. And yes, that applies to me also; I could stand to lose about 30 myself.
You're pretty naive if you don't expect your professional photographer to photoshop the pictures. That's pretty much the professional part and without it, you could just get a fancy camera and take the pictures yourself. I'm skinny (and not too ugly if I don't think) and still had the c**p photoshopped out of my professionally done senior pictures back in high school. They hardly looked like me!
Really? she photoshopped them because she thought they were too fat for a cute wedding picture, and when they complained about it, she bitched on Facebook that they were fat? If that is so much of a problem for her, I fail to understand why she agreed to do business with those people. Nobody asked her to photoshop any one slimmer. So you don't photoshop anyone slimmer. Nobody asked for your opinion on their bodies. You were asked to do a photoshoot, not project your beauty ideals into them. What a b***h.
She did not name them and she commented on a site for photographers to share good and bad information. I believe the photographer when she says what happened and what a pain in the a*s they were. Run a business and you will see that some people are just impossible to please. This couple has even made two of their dogs morbidly obese. And calling them morbidly obese is just a fact. If you don't like the name don't give yourself the medical condition.
They are users and takers! Then try to justify themselves for taking advantage of this poor photographer who did an excellent job, considering what she had to work with. They'll be expecting to take advantage of the next person they decide to use too. Hope it's not you!
Load More Replies...The photographer should not have used photoshop on the pictures or posted a rant about the people. Not EVERY shoot is going to be exactly what you want or "pinterest worthy". The people did make some terrible choices for the shoot but the edited picture was the best one so I don't get it, that chin tuck totally ruined it. The photographers attitude super sucks. People are annoying and picky and think their ideas are always right #duh if you work with the public it's just a fact.... especially when it comes to precious memories of milestones in life, yeeesh
Haha you do have a point about working with the public! But "photoshop"or some type of editing is used on pretty much every photo a photographer takes, especially if they shoot in "RAW" format.
Load More Replies...Okay but everyone jumping to " the photographer was a bad person for photoshopping them without permission!" But no ones thinking about it from their perspective. This obese couple looks like they'd be a pain in the a*s. I'm not defending her nor defending the couple. She seemed like a short fused moron but the couple seemed like a pair of stupid, overweight idiots too.
BTW, what is wrong on what the photographer wrote? She didn't put there their names, pictures or other personal info so... what is the problem? Aren't we allowed to share awful experience with other people anymore?
F*cking double standards. So these fat asses can't be made fun of because it's "wrong" but it's ok for skinny people to be made fun of? That's disgusting
the bride posted the story, but to be honest i'm on the photographer side
This photographer did a very good job and got used and taken advantage of by these users and takers. They'll do it again too. Next they'll put a dead fly in their food, complain loudly, and get a freebie. Then they'll haul out mounds in a carry out to get freebies for their dogs too.
Load More Replies...We really need to stop living in this world where we think it's at all possible to pretend weight is inconsequential. I'm incredibly thin due to a rare genetic neuro-muscular condition I've had since birth, and I can't count the amount of times I've been picked at because of my weight. Is it unfortunate? Yes. Do I understand it? Yes. It's my job to educate people to see my humanity. To expect that flaming them out for weight-shaming would change my outlook or make them more open-minded would be ridiculous. That said, the photographer has no business using her approach. Her photos suck and she didn't give them what they asked for. A true artist could use force-perspective to capture great photos, despite the physical challenges. All she did was point and shoot. I wouldn't pay her one dollar for those pictures, let alone hundreds.
they needed to loose 30 lbs anyway. the retouched pics look better. if i was that big i would appreciate the help!
Thirty pounds wouldn't make much difference. 100lbs would be a good start.
Load More Replies...Wait, wait, she's good enough at Photoshop to use the Liquify tool on someone but she can't use freaking curves adjustments to fix the light on the truck? It's not that bad. I could be tweaked a little, and they weren't squinting that bad. She can't dodge and burn but she can give someone a chin tuck (which looked like s**t). She can't control her shoot, and she can't edit. That's this couple's fault how?
are those people overweight? YES. is it cool to photoshop their pictures without asking them? NO. is it cool to shame them in some closed group? NO. is it photographer's job to worry about people's weight and lecture? NO. just do your damn job. do you make black people whiter, too?
Ah, the comment section. Bastion of cruelty and ignorant, unasked for opinions. Remember when pages didn't have them? Those were the days.
I feel that the photographer taking her time editing just so the couple look their best is very thoughtful of her. Instead of a refund The couple could have just asked for unedited picture which I'm sure the photographer would just had given them. My vote goes to the photographer 😉
I would like this photographer to take my pics. I want to look like Beyoncé! 💥 Boom 💥 my problems would all be solved 😃.
I would have looked at that photoshopped version and thought "GOALS"... they know they are obese and those poor dogs are overfed af too.
If being overweight is considered acceptable, then why is it considered abusive to have overweight pets?
Part Biology, partly down to the fact people control how much their pets eat. Pets should not be overweight because its way worse for them than people. My roommate has an overwieght dog (he got her from a couple that let it happen) and trust me its heartbreaking to see a beagle thats twice the average weight struggle to do simple things like jumping and going up/down stairs, she has constant issues with her joints and she can't go out for long walks either which makes it very hard to help her lose the weight.
Load More Replies...Those people ARE morbidly obese. Even their dogs are ridiculously fat. Perhaps to the point of animal cruelty. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna say "Oh, you look so beautiful" to someone that might drop dead of a heart attack at any moment because of their hideous weight. There is NOTHING healthy about that, I don't give a flying fajita what the PC police say.
I would've been happy if my wedding photographer tweaked some of my photos. He took the worst angles of people I've ever seen. I barely kept 25 percent of them. But I didn't ask for a refund.
If I were they the new picture would inspire me how good could I look with a less body mass. My opinion no excuse to be so overweight and nobody tell me they feel themselves well. They destroy their own health. May it would be a time to write a letter to Chris Powell to take a revenge :). I respect so much that people who finally stop to lie themselves and made an amazing transformation with him help. :)
She's probably scaling back her photography business because she's a terrible photographer. Nothing about any of these photos says 'professional' to me. I would be pissed that I paid $150 for something I could have a friend do with their iPhone. A real and proper photographer works to make the client feel comfortable and beautiful the way they are, they know what poses and lighting would flatter their client and how to control the photo shoot. But then she was asking for $600... You pay below market value then you get below market value.
I feel sorry for the dogs - because their owners can barely move, the dogs are fat. Yeah, I get that some people have difficulties to lose weight, but c'mon. I will never back up obesity, fatness and skinny types. Eat the amount you need, not want. Excercise, take care of yourself, get to a doc to check up hormones, stay healthy. And do the same for your pets instead of setting them on a straight way to heart failure or other lethat medical condition caused by being fat.
The "photographer" was very unprofessional in this case. Not only are the pictures themselves very amateur, but her comments afterwards were disgusting.
So classless to make fun of them online or anywhere for that matter. What ever happened to acting like a professional?
First of all, this photographer is terrible. She is what people call a fauxtog. The one photo is so out of focus, Stevie Wonder could have done better. Second, you never talk smack about a customer online. This snapshot girly is just plain stupid. She is not good enough to do weddings and is so unprofessional, she should stick to dropping fries at McDonalds. If I was a woman and a photographer talked about me like that online, I would punch her in the face. She deserves to have her business ruined. What a stupid, stupid, woman.
Don't be cursing Jesus, you freak. You'll get to pay for that!
Load More Replies...Everyone relax. Trump's doctor examined them and their dogs and they are 100% in perfect health! The best health ever!
people this days: ,,Oh my god, dont be so heartless. Meh, f**k the people, but those animals..."
The people feed the dogs and essentially control their diet, its also much worse for pets when they get obese because their bodies aren't able to handle the extra weight anywhere near as well as people can. They let it happen to themselves and thats fine but to let it happen to your pets too? The s**t those dogs are likely going through is terrible. My roommate got an obese dog off a couple that let it happen a few years back and trust me it sucks for the dog because not only is she on a strict diet that she hates but she struggles to get up/ down stairs, has constant joint issues, can't go on long walks and she cant even get on my mates bed without help and she loves napping there.
Load More Replies...For those of you shaming them for overweight dogs for all you know they could be pound rescues that were already overweight. Don't judge unless you know the full story. You are all as disgusting as the photographer otherwise.
They need to get over themselves jesus Christ. Talk about cherry picking quotes and throwing in bs like "making fun" for shock value since theres all this "fat acceptance" bs going on at the minute. Absolute joke.
They need to get over themselves jesus Christ, talk about cherry picking quotes and throwing in bs like "making fun" for shock value..smh
I'm pretty sure those folks were a pain in her a*s. sorry, I'm taking side with the photographer on this one.
Truble they had... What f truble, he was photographing them in inposible condisions. Photoshop was asked from him, and I'm sure they got originals too if they don't like corrected ones. BTW, photoshop is part of process, you don't just take a picture and that's it you take multiple, chose better ones correct tone if needed corp... And he did offer them free for photos... but time is everyone's commodity, and needs to be respected. BTW wedding photo on truck and in shirt... I mean he is not picasso. What do people expect.
As an ex professional wedding photographer (I'm better now, really) I have to say these photos are terrible, amateur dross. And her princess rant just details the things you expect at any shoot.
I am not siding with either parties but I have something to say as a photographer. Prior to photo session discuss if they want some photoshop work done beside just the basic tune up, it should be done in writing. Many young women that I worked with can get quite unrealistic with their own body image because they can easily take their own selfies with few tricks of angles. Many of them think by using a professional photographer we can make their body magically look like model out of a magazine. Sure it can be done but I personally do not like to edit that much honestly. Besides average photographer don't have advance photoshop skills to do that. Photographer should know about basic composition and light direction. They can lead the clients to pose and not take picture directly front of the sunlight. One more thing, never never rant about their clients on social media.
Yes @The Paul... same for children... "obese" children should be considered a child abuse committed by their guardians.
They accuse the photographer for "fat shaming, which is really just as cruel as the photographer's response, and everyone wonders why the photographer responded the way she did. They were both wrong. They should have let the photographer know which photos they preferred, plain and simple. But instead they would rather bring all that negative attention to themselves that they were being bullied by a photographer who was doing her job! I was overweight once, too, and I would have been thrilled with the photos that made me look a little better. And if I wasn't, I would have never in a million years thought the photographer was deliberately fat shaming me. That is absolutely ridiculous. In a sense they were fat shaming themselves.
How about letting people be who they are, and not comment them to death? The couple NEVER asked to be photoshopped, and were insulted by the photographer's one-sided decision to do so. I would be too! Who wouldn't be? And then bad-mouthing the couple on internet?? BAD FORM! NOBODY has the right to judge other people's lives, or their weight, or the weight of their dogs, or how they live, or how they eat, or what THEY choose their engagement- and wedding photos should look like! Would YOU like it if someone commented on how you look, or how you live, or how you feed your animals?? No, I didn't think so.
In the edited picture, the guy's arm is weirdly shaped. Photoshop fail...
My vote goes to the photographer. I find that it is thoughtful of her of wanting the couple look their best in their pictures. Taking her time on editing the couple pictures for perfection I find her simply awesome. There is both ways to look at it. Instead of a refund the couple should just asked for the original photos unedited version which I'm sure she would had given them. But her posting her frustration in her private fb wall. That's her private stuffs.
So if you spend $200 at the store but the clerk drops a couple of nickels change on the floor you're entitled to a refund ??? There are people like those paperweights out there who have a distorted sense of fairness which helps to explain their morbid obesity. Better start looking for home for their dogs because they won't likely be around much longer. Most rational people would have appreciated the subtle trimming from the photographer.
I wonder if they would sue their doctor for telling them to lose some weight. Because it's fat shaming, you know...
As a photographer by hobby Photoshop isn’t the problem... it’s how she used it! She should NEVER have tried to change ANYTHING about their physical appearance. Yet, to clean up things like grass or mud, which probably happened while doing the pic with the dogs. The chin left shouldn’t have ever happened! I will admit to feeling some what the same as the photographer on getting the most picture perfect type of people but she shouldn’t have publicly said it. She was paid to do a job one of which she failed at via her response. You can’t ALWAYS get model like clients but you still have to treat them as you would if they were “perfect” you should still work as hard as you would on a job you would prefer to be working on! They paid you, they are paying your bills and you should know your craft as an art and as a business if you are going to be doing it as a business!
They have four dogs they should give two away because they have to many dogs the dogs can’t sit right they just move around and play around They can’t stay still
I think your photos are lovely, don't be so judgmental people. All I see is two happy people enjoying each other and there family of pets. Life's hard, give it up with the negatives.
The photographer is extremely unprofessional. If she knew what she was doing she would have arranged the people, dogs and truck in order to achieve the best results. Photoshop for reducing their weight? unbelievable. What nerve to write such nonsense. I hope she never gets another photography job.
Of she gave them both the original and tweaked version, she did nothing wrong. I photographed a wedding where the bride was obese. She bought her dress and then put on weight. The tight dress made her back look a butt crack. I took that out.
Not really, considering what actual professionals charge that price ain't too bad.
Load More Replies...The photographer is a moron who has issues with fat people. She could have done her job, taken fun photos and maybe got some business from other overweight people who saw how she treated them with respect and took nice photos. Her job is to take their photos, not fill up her pinterest board.
So disappointed by the comments below. She was publicly humiliated on a day that should have been hers. The photo-shopping is catastrophically amateur at best, and the photographer was incredibly unprofessional to vent on a public forum. She should have publicly apologized and returned the deposit as a lesson learned. As it is, her business will suffer much more than $150 for her arrogance. Pride before the fall.
Just make the pics look right and natural. Color temp, brightness, sharpness etc. Don't edit without request. Don't be the judge. Take the pics from angles that makes the people look good in the first place.
Beautiful couple. The dogs cannot help being obese. They can't do anything about it they will eat until they vomit if allowed to do so. Perhaps this beautiful couple will start doing something about their weight and the dogs also. Some exercise would help the dogs. Good luck to this beautiful couple for many years of happiness!
Sorry, but the couple is very far from beautiful inside and out
Load More Replies...Why on earth would the photographer complain about having the dogs in a picture? They're part of the family. Also why complain about the truck? If you like your truck, why not have it in a picture? If you don't want your images changed by photoshopping, that shouldn't be done then.
About the photoshop part, where is the line not to be crossed ? The couple want great pics, you need at least to touch color, contrast and other small things here and there for the pic to be prefect (outdoor with limited accessories). So yesn they paid her to "photoshop" a bit the pics... I agree she should not have fat shamed them in the rant and by reducing their bodies. She should have done one, really exagereted small heads, that's it. Plus, she is the professional, sha have to say no to the cutomers askind silly stuff upfront.
annnnd jump to the comments and all the ignorant fat shaming. Talk about missing the point....
A lot of people are just soooo tired of having "fat is healthy" shoved down our throats all the time when it couldn't be further from the truth. 40% of children are now overweight and 20% are obese. It's time to start treating fat people like cigarette smokers so we can save the next generation from the stupidity of the current one.
Load More Replies...Wow, I find what the photographer did rude and unprofessional. Not only the photoshop but also the comments she made on the site. I think she just had a bad attitude when she first laid eyes on them and noticed their size. I am no photographer but when working with people I think it comes with the job to learn and understand that people are different, they come in different sizes, shape, color, attitude, upbringing and values. Based on that one must develop a way to deal with each individual in a professional mature way. I am really baffled by the comments she made about the size of the clients, it was unnecessary.
People nowadays. Human overweight = you can't say that!!! *insert various excuses* Pets overweight = oh poor thing. They should not overfeed. They should exercise. *insert various advice which is not valid for humans*
Might have been different if it was a decent photo shop job. Look at the guys arm no arm on anyone is shaped like that. And if you are going to remove someone's double chin than do it softly not with sharp angles! And she should have just kept the photo shopped pic for herself or asked them if they wanted it!
I'm totally on the side of the photographer on this one. They received 2 versions of the picture, with and without photoshopping. They had the choice to frame which version they prefer. If they were not happy with the result, fine, it happen. In that case, a decent human being cancel the contract. To ask for a full refund in that case is fraud.
Remi, this couple got more than their moneys' worth from a shoot that was way under priced to begin with. I can't imagine how many hours and sweat the photographer put into just trying to get the dogs to stay out of the pond, then lined up and sitting still; then this hog couple all cuddly and cute in the back of a pickup truck they were too obese to get into. These two were a LOTTA work, just users and takers who then kept all the work for their too cheap deposit. Whiners, liars and thieves, using up a hard working photographer They'll do it again too.
Load More Replies...You shouldn't put the name of the photographer in the text in the first place without giving her a chance to comment - even then, you have no right to do it. Makes no sense to blank it on the screenshot when you write it in the text, either.
"Everything started when Katie Liepold turned to Facebook to hire a photographer for her May wedding." I think I see the root of this problem....
They may have gotten mud and grass from pictures with the dogs why be so rude and mean people
Load More Replies...Terrible customers, terrible photographer. They deserved each other.
it sounds like this article defends these people. come on! they are horribly fat and let's not be afraid to say it. let's not promote it as well! it's far from healthy! I understand what photographer did wasn't ok, but I don't see how is that much of a problem, since she gave moeny back.
WHY say anything about it? Honestly? Why make rude or negative comments about someone? Does it make you feel better about yourself? Do you say things to people who smoke, eat candy, are too skinny? Do you condemn every person you see eating fast food? I'm guessing no. You only find it acceptable to put down fat people.
Load More Replies...Sorry, if I had four chins, I'd happily let the photography professional remove one, or two, of them. Plus deposits are deposits. The photog should have just shut up about how obese they are, that s**t backfires.
Yes, but the photographer should've consulted with them first instead of going ahead and making them look thinner. It's extra work that the clients didn't even ask for, and in the end it insulted them. They might be obese (because, let's face it, they most definitely are), but they might feel good about the way they look and having an outsider automatically "make them look better" (aka make them thinner) without any warning understandably ticked them off. That being said, from the things the photographer wrote, it seems that the couple were pretty difficult to work with...
Load More Replies...I wish a photographer would give me Lipo for my wedding photos. People take offence to everything and nothing. I mean, it's not like you do not get the untouched, obese, originals.
They didn't ask to be photoshopped. The photographer is unprofessional and disrespectful.
Load More Replies...I'd like to point out that, even WITH the photoshopping, you still look like pigs at the ranch. And you pay photographers to make you look "good" in the pics they take. Photoshop is a basic tool of the trade. Don't wanna be photoshopped without your permission? Don't hire a professional photographer, that's EXACTLY what you're paying them to do.
"Fat Shaming" means making it aware that being FAT is bad for your health. Being FAT is not a healthy choice we want to promote. If you are fat you have my sympathy and encouragement to take control and be healthy. But "fat shaming " is a POSITIVE thing.
Oh, really? So are you out there harassing everyone who smokes? Who drinks? Who does drugs? What about those who don't eat enough, and are far too skinny? Do you feel the need to critique their life choices every chance you get? What about those who aren't overweight or underweight but who eat an extremely poor diet anyway? Do they offend you as much, since it's just as unhealthy? What about people who don't get enough sleep, which causes almost as many health issues as obesity or smoking? And finally, addiction to social media. That's unhealthy. Are you constantly ensuring that everyone spends a healthy amount of time outside? Yeah, f**k you. Health issue my fat a*s, you judgemental c**t.
Load More Replies...you americans are always so sensitive about fat people's feeling... they just eat sh*ty food, sit on the a*s whole day, so they are fat, end of the story. i feel sory for the photographer who had an impossible work to do (make beauty pic of a gross fat couple), and thair sickly fat pets...
That's incredibly ignorant. Not all people are fat because they don't move and stuff their faces all day long. Are some? Absolutely, but most certainly not all. Sorry we're not willing to treat people like absolute s**t for being overweight. One of my closest friends is very overweight, yet she works 12 hours shifts as a nurse taking care of people, eats 1500 calories a day and maintains a workout schedule I'm guessing most of us here couldn't keep up with. Once a body is fat, it wants to stay fat, making weight loss a hard thing. For f***s sake, stop being a d**k.
Load More Replies...Sounds like the photographer tried to do them a favor. The so called famous people need to zip their lips. half of them if it were not for makeup/Photoshop nobody would give them a second look.
My sympathies are with the photographer. I am against fat shaming but their are limits and these two are no size zero's. As for their dogs.........
I'm guessing this isn't the publicity the photographer was looking for, but she's clearly good at photoshop and I'd like to get her contact info. I get the couple's point of view. That being said, skill is hard to find and while the end result is not representative nor accurate, the workmanship is good.
LOL @ the whiny butter golems. The photographer did those two couch bison a solid by making them look slightly less revolting.
She shouldn't have posted s**t on Twitter, but they still need to hit the f***ing treadmill and put down the f***ing junk food.
After reading everything, that photographer said, I can feel her pain... That couple is obese, they have unrealistic demands and then they make photographers life difficult? I hate people, that say, that obese people are nice, beautiful etc. My boyfriend has health issues and he has really nice body anyway, despite he gains 20g from each 10g of food, that he eats, but he is working on himself... Shame on them, loose weight and stop being a******s!
She's a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. What kind of professional person EVER thinks it's okay to get online and say such things about a client? Then to edit their photos without permission? She's an a*****e.
Load More Replies...The photographer was just trying to help out a couple of fatties. Maybe If they weren't both the size of a manate each they wouldn't need any photoshopping. They could probably use this experience as a wake up call and make some diet changes. Looks like one or both of them might not be too far off from heart failure.
With or without the dogs? Ewwww...... Either way, I cant. tee he he.....
Load More Replies...Photoshopping may be time consuming so the photographer wasted their own time, they didn't ask the photographer to make them look skinnier so even if the photos are worth a lot of money the photographer made the d**k move of doing something nobody asked for and then complaining when the couple got upset
Load More Replies...Yes she did, Maggie. For what she had to work with, she did an excellent job. This couple just wanted something for nothing and very nearly got it too. It wouldn't surprise me if they still try to sue the photographer. The pity is that she didn't get a much larger deposi to begin with.
Load More Replies...They do need to lose weight, but it's their issue, it's not for a 3rd party particularly one that they're paying for a service to point out. There is just no need for someone to volunteer this information to someone.
Load More Replies...If they did not ask for the photographer to photoshop them, the photographer shouldn't have, the photographer thinks he/she is entitled to change someone's else's photo just because they took the photo and the couple isn't average size. If they didn't ask for it the photographer was just an a*****e
Load More Replies...Jesus Christ, look at the size of those dogs!!!
