Fashion Often Draws Inspiration From Nature And This Instagram Account Proves It (30 New Pics)
No one creates as beautifully as mother nature. Therefore, it is no wonder why so many artists use nature as a reference. As Kirby Ferguson once said, "everything is just a remix", and this time we see clear comparisons of nature's fragments remixed and used in the fashion industry.
Jill Sherman has an Instagram account where her passion for science and fashion is combined. As Jill previously shared, her interest in the natural world started when her father unplugged the TV. That encouraged her to read the encyclopedia in the evenings instead. Later in life, her interest in fashion began as she noticed a strange talent for remembering textures, forms, and patterns.
In 2020, Jill started an Instagram account with images that compare fashion to the natural world, and below are the newest images of her work.

The neckline would be tickling my neck and chin so much it would drive me absolutely crazy.
Wouldn’t be all that bad if it was just strapless without all the ruffling. Too many ruffles detract from both the dress and the wearer.
With a longer skirt, and some weights in the hem to weigh the fabric down and make it look less like a tutu, it might work.

No. I am sick to death of the trend of leotards and underwear being visible under transparent clothing. Wear a damn slip, or wear clothes made out of material that is not transparent. The other trend I’m sick of is the cutout b******t where you can’t even wear underwear under it. WTF? Are supposedly haute couture designers so out of ideas they’re now stealing designs from Frederick’s of Hollywood or something?

Some of these are really pretty 😍. I love how we are finally getting normal sized models on the run way. But by God..... who the hell is doing make up and hair? They need a good slap. I would be so pissed if you pourposly gave me a unibrow.
It's a catwalk designer thing. Somehow they think pretty women outshine their clothes, so they universally have these women who are normally gorgeous make up as hideously as possible. (Like I want to buy the clothes and look just like the ugly woman??) Honestly, watch fashion week and it's the odd show out that doesn't do this.

i’m so sick of people “correcting” or “fixing” fashion. it’s not supposed to be practical, it’s supposed to stand out and make an impact. just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s less valid as a piece.
Looks like designers either hate us, or they’re trying to be “artistic” (and failing miserably), or they’re not really designing clothing for people to wear, but are merely going for shock and disgust value in order to get noticed. How about showing me something I would actually buy to wear in public, like at work or going out to eat, and not to a costume party?

Y'all are basic and it shows by the comments. If you don't appreciate avant garde fashion just don't look at the runaways, go to Target, it doesn't mean it's not pretty because you think it's ugly, also fashion it's not always meant to be "pretty" or "trendy", sometimes it's just artistic expression. Last but not least, it's just clothes, just fabric, and you're not under any obligation to wear these pieces if you don't like them and if the problem is "nobody wears it", well that's not YOUR problem is it?
I actually would buy several of these pieces, and I enjoyed the effort the more bizarre ones were to adhere to the theme. The sewing skills these creations required were impressive, and I'm sure the fashion house will show a slightly modified version of the crazy ones for actual buyers.
