Revolutionary Farming Technique That Uses Fish

Aquaponics is an effective alternative farming technique that drastically benefits the environment. It combines conventional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as snails or fish in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water). In normal aquaculture, poop from the animals being raised can accumulate in the water, increasing toxicity, but in an aquaponic system, this water feeds the veggies which also clean it at the same time. The toxin-free water can then circulate back to the fish tank and the process can repeat endlessly, eliminating the need to dump the water.

What do I think? I think the current rate of breeding is utterly unsustainable, as is the production of meats as a primary food source.
If you are in Europe, check out Thorilex. I had a chance to see some of their projects up close and it's amazing, what they can do! They can build a small scale system or go wild in huge warehouses. I was really awed. They have a small system built for visitors to experience as well.
Add vertical farming to this, and scale it both to a container-like inner city and a warehouse-size outer city size and the future has arrived. Whoever claims that it will not be possible to sustainably feed the – whole (!) – world in times to come, is wrong. However, the typical Western diet might soon be a relict of the past – for good or for bad everyone has decide for theirself.
This is all part of the 'indoor' farming techniques that are going to help feed the world, as our next Gran Solar Minimum(little ice age) approaches. Open air farming will become more problematic as the agriculture zones shift southward, but 'indoor' farming will be unaffected.
