Imagine – you’re a self-taught restorer starting your own business. How to get clients? Maybe showing off your skills by colorizing famous historical photos would help? This series, done by Reddit user mygrapefruit and self-taught restorer from Sweden Sanna Dullaway, sure did the trick. They restored 34 black and white photos using a Wacom bamboo tablet and Photoshop. Each photo took them from 20 minutes to 2 hours.

Actually, looking at them brings me to a strange realization that most of the history we know is captured in black & white, nonetheless life itself was as vivid and colorful as it is now. Grass was green, skies were blue, Lincoln was sporting a red bowtie…big deal. So look at these photos and your perception of history will never be the same.
