A Pub Argument

A Pub Argument

The idea of Guinness Book of Records came to Sir Hugh Beaver in the 1950's when he had an argument in a pub about the fastest game bird in Europe. Since he couldn't find an answer in any of the books, he decided to compile a book of facts and figures to help settle pub arguments just like the one he had.

its not poison, its more intense oily substance which can cause irritation, and that gives fruits pungent and sharp taste.

Yes it's quite yummy. Can be had with a little salt as well. The apple is crushed and had a juice, which has a cooling effect on the body. It is considered to be good during summers. It's not poison it is sort of a resin that is in the inner layer of the nuts shell.

The fruit is actually what's called the "nut", and the meaty part is called the cashew apple. The species is originally native to northeastern Brazil (where I'm from) and the cashew apple is widely consumed fresh, raw, in juices, ice cream - or in marmalades and jams. The nut, indeed, cannot be consumed raw and it's always roasted. I absolutely love it in all its forms! <3 There's even a Museum dedicated to Cashew in the northeastern state of Ceará (https://web.facebook.com/pg/MuseuDoCaju/photos/?ref=page_internal) caju-5c8a8...ae9fa5.jpg caju-5c8a8deae9fa5.jpg

More on cashews (I *really love them! lol): "The true fruit of the cashew tree is a kidney or boxing-glove shaped drupe that grows at the end of the cashew apple. The drupe develops first on the tree, and then the pedicel expands to become the cashew apple. Within the true fruit is a single seed, which is often considered a nut, in the culinary sense." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cashew

Ripe cashews fruits are bright red and are very juicy, but some get a scratchy throat after eating it. The old way of roasting the huts was to set the oily coat on fire, then smother the flames and cracj the black shells. Relight the fire and repeat until finished.

Source Of Fire

Source Of Fire

The lighter was invented before the match was.

Ionel POP Report

Of course - after all, the lighter is just an automated version of bit of flint striking steel, which as THE preferred method for lighting fires for thousands of years. The first automated lighter was derived from the wheel-lock musket when the latter appeared around 1500 and was simply a toothed wheel driven by clockwork rotates against bit of flint to create sparks. You could also add a bit of gunpowder as an accelerator. Unfortunately, they were very expensive, so only nobles got to have them until 1823, when Döbereiner "Feuerzeug" tabletop lighter was invented, a hilariously complicated and unsafe mechanism containing zinc and sulphuric acid to make hydrogen which then reacts with a platinum metal sponge to create a flame... Frankly, I'm not sure that one was an improvement...

Something to do with it being a harder material, thus retaining more of its kinetic energy when impacting the ground, while the rubber ball will cushion itself, losing just a little more energy, and not bouncing higher. This is probably bullshit, but I don't care.
