Source Of Fire
The lighter was invented before the match was.
Of course - after all, the lighter is just an automated version of bit of flint striking steel, which as THE preferred method for lighting fires for thousands of years. The first automated lighter was derived from the wheel-lock musket when the latter appeared around 1500 and was simply a toothed wheel driven by clockwork rotates against bit of flint to create sparks. You could also add a bit of gunpowder as an accelerator. Unfortunately, they were very expensive, so only nobles got to have them until 1823, when Döbereiner "Feuerzeug" tabletop lighter was invented, a hilariously complicated and unsafe mechanism containing zinc and sulphuric acid to make hydrogen which then reacts with a platinum metal sponge to create a flame... Frankly, I'm not sure that one was an improvement...

Something to do with it being a harder material, thus retaining more of its kinetic energy when impacting the ground, while the rubber ball will cushion itself, losing just a little more energy, and not bouncing higher. This is probably b******t, but I don't care.

The Last Guillotine
France legally executed the last person by guillotine in 1977, the same year Star Wars: A New Hope came out.
What difference does it make? There are no humane ways to deliberately kill a person against his or her will. The dealth penalty is an act of barbarism that future generations, after its complete abandonment, will shake their heads about, just like we now shake our heads when we learn that burning witches once was normal practice.
A girl who lived in my town was murdered by a serial killer. She was 21 years old and he snuffed her life out just for the fun of it. He killed 10 people in and around our community. His first victims were an 11 year old girl and her entire family. He made her watch as he tortured, shot and killed her parents and her 9-year-old brother, then he killed her and performed unspeakable acts on their bodies. He went on to kill 6 others before he was caught. The district attorney could not pursue the death penalty because the first murders were committed before capital punishment was allowed in the state. So now that guy is serving a life sentence. He killed 10 people and he gets to live. That is not justice. That is a travesty.
Load More Replies...Pretty crazy. Even crazier perhaps, is that they still chop heads in some countries to this day.
Although it doesn't matter how you kill. Countries should never kill their own people as an act of revenge.

" The use of beheading machines in Europe long predates such use during the French revolution in 1792. The Halifax Gibbet was a wooden structure consisting of two wooden uprights, capped by a horizontal beam, of a total height of 4.5 metres (15 ft). the first recorded execution in Halifax dates from 1280, but that execution may have been by sword, axe, or gibbet. The Maiden was constructed in 1564 for the Provost and Magistrates of Edinburgh, and it was in use from April 1565 to 1710." picture : the Halifax Gibbet The_Halifa...385b89.jpg

Best Restaurant
In 2018 Taco Bell was voted as the best Mexican restaurant in America.
As a Mexican this just makes me so disappointed. Taco bell is a very cheap imitation of Mexican food.
That's just so sad. I like Taco Bell for a quick fix, but it doesn't even compare to authentic Mexican. Enjoyed even the refried beans at an authentic Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, after having typical Americanized Mexican food on the Riverwalk. I can't stand American refried beans. At the "real" restaurant, they were so good. I can't even imagine eating in Mexico. Mmmmm.
Wow I did not know that. Keep putting facts on! Maybe tell this to a fact writer.
I hate this website! HA HA HA HA HA Ps: Reply with "then why are you on it?" for a cookie
TJler which one were you talking about? They usually change depending on votes
