Of course - after all, the lighter is just an automated version of bit of flint striking steel, which as THE preferred method for lighting fires for thousands of years. The first automated lighter was derived from the wheel-lock musket when the latter appeared around 1500 and was simply a toothed wheel driven by clockwork rotates against bit of flint to create sparks. You could also add a bit of gunpowder as an accelerator. Unfortunately, they were very expensive, so only nobles got to have them until 1823, when Döbereiner "Feuerzeug" tabletop lighter was invented, a hilariously complicated and unsafe mechanism containing zinc and sulphuric acid to make hydrogen which then reacts with a platinum metal sponge to create a flame... Load More Replies...Sorry dudes, I am Italian and I ca't get why this is so funny for you all!! Hahsahhaha, that's grammar, Singular and Plural :D Our grammar is complex, each person of a verbal form has a different declension, there are differences among female singular / plural and masculine singular / plural... Why is SPAGHETTO so funny!??!
English-speakers exposure to Italian words is often limited to the plural form, not the singular. In English, we say spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, graffitti, and these can mean either singular or plural. We do not make the distinction. So when we encounter the singular spaghetto, linguina, fettuccina, graffitto -- these words look odd to us, and therefore "funny"
Load More Replies...Masculine singular words ending -o become -i in the plural. So giorno (day) becomes giorni (days). So one ravioli is a raviolo, and one tortellini is a tortellino and one rigatoni is a rigatono, and so on.
The reason you always use the plural for panini is you always eat more than one :D
Since the photo actually shows linguine, would a single strand be a linguino?
No, linguine are feminine, so the singular is a linguina. BTW you’re right, the pic shows linguine and not spaghetti!
Load More Replies...So one Betty is a Betto, a machete is a macheto, one yeti is a yeto, one sweaty is a sweato, and one confetti is confetto?
Trying to be funny, but you actually nailed the confetto
Load More Replies...So is a single macaroni a macarono? And is fettuccini multiple fettuccinos?

Peach possum it is not true.I am Italian, “uccio”is a term of endearment, like caldo means hot and calduccio means like sweet cozy hot, if you talk about the feeling of being close to a fireplace in winter at home.Cappuccio and cappuccino means just the same, in this case it is just the name of the product.
WAS drinking water *drinks last sip* in the Italian language a single strand of spaghetti is called a spaghetto * spits out water* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
How is this supposed to sound fake? (As the title claims, unless they change it)
maybe because the photo shows linguine not spaghetti...
Load More Replies...You are correct: graffito is singular, graffiti is plural. the word is the diminutive past tense form of the verb graffire, meaning "to scratch". So graffito means "little scratch" and graffiti is "little scratches".
Load More Replies...Nope. That's not how grammar works. Pizza is already singular and feminine. A slice of pizza translates as "una fetta di pizza", or "a bit of pizza" is " un po' di pizza". Yeah, not as funny as you hoped, sorry.

Bouncy Balls
A glass ball can bounce higher than a rubber ball of the same size.
Something to do with it being a harder material, thus retaining more of its kinetic energy when impacting the ground, while the rubber ball will cushion itself, losing just a little more energy, and not bouncing higher. This is probably b******t, but I don't care.

Best Restaurant
In 2018 Taco Bell was voted as the best Mexican restaurant in America.
As a Mexican this just makes me so disappointed. Taco bell is a very cheap imitation of Mexican food.
That's just so sad. I like Taco Bell for a quick fix, but it doesn't even compare to authentic Mexican. Enjoyed even the refried beans at an authentic Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, after having typical Americanized Mexican food on the Riverwalk. I can't stand American refried beans. At the "real" restaurant, they were so good. I can't even imagine eating in Mexico. Mmmmm.
Wow I did not know that. Keep putting facts on! Maybe tell this to a fact writer.
I hate this website! HA HA HA HA HA Ps: Reply with "then why are you on it?" for a cookie
TJler which one were you talking about? They usually change depending on votes
