Honey never spoils. It has an excellent chemical composition which prevents organisms from living in it. So no matter how old is the honey it's probably perfectly edible.

I can still picture a bunch of archaeologists and scientists daring one another to eat some ancient honey they've discovered during one of their finds.

They did find edible honey in some Egyptian tombs. Also, a few years ago, some archeologists found a 12,000 year old mummified bison in Alaska. They then took a little bit off of the shoulder and made soup.

It is. Never eat honey with a spoon from a bottle and redip. Our mouth has so many germs and it will make the honey off. It smells terrible when that happens

It will dry up and crystalize, though. Yet, it's still technically edible that way.

If honey crystalizes, apply heat to it. Heat up a bowl of water (not boiling, just hot), put the jar of honey into the water, turn the jar occasionally to get all the honey hot. It turns smooth and liquid again.

In addition, honey is good for minor injuries. Next time you have a cut or a scrape, after cleaning it put honey on it instead of antibacterial cream. Works like magic!

If you ever get a gruesome wound and have no other way of cleaning it out then the next best thing is honey or a packet of sugar because both will prevent infection!

Clostridium botulinum bacteria is common in dirt and dust and both dirt and dust can contaminate honey. Honey itself is not dangerous for infants but contaminated honey is. It can be difficult to know is honey contamined or not so it is not worth to take risk. For the older children the botulinism risk is much smaller so they can eat honey safely.

A Pub Argument

A Pub Argument

The idea of Guinness Book of Records came to Sir Hugh Beaver in the 1950's when he had an argument in a pub about the fastest game bird in Europe. Since he couldn't find an answer in any of the books, he decided to compile a book of facts and figures to help settle pub arguments just like the one he had.

Of course - after all, the lighter is just an automated version of bit of flint striking steel, which as THE preferred method for lighting fires for thousands of years. The first automated lighter was derived from the wheel-lock musket when the latter appeared around 1500 and was simply a toothed wheel driven by clockwork rotates against bit of flint to create sparks. You could also add a bit of gunpowder as an accelerator. Unfortunately, they were very expensive, so only nobles got to have them until 1823, when Döbereiner "Feuerzeug" tabletop lighter was invented, a hilariously complicated and unsafe mechanism containing zinc and sulphuric acid to make hydrogen which then reacts with a platinum metal sponge to create a flame... Frankly, I'm not sure that one was an improvement...

Something to do with it being a harder material, thus retaining more of its kinetic energy when impacting the ground, while the rubber ball will cushion itself, losing just a little more energy, and not bouncing higher. This is probably b******t, but I don't care.
