Artist Breaks The Traditional Masculinized Image Of Famous People By Taking Them To Their Pink World
Scott Scheidly is an artist from Ohio, currently based in Orlando, Florida, who calls himself surrealist at heart. His oil painting series “The Pinks” has some of that vibe too since Scheidly decided to depict infamous historical figures in a completely new light – fabulous pink.
As the artist says himself, this art project “explores the cultural and social implications of color meanings and symbology and how the predefined notions that accompany these perceptions can alter one’s identity and subsequent world view.” Scheidly depicts either hyper-masculinized or historically infamous people and mocks them in his cool paintings using social/sexual satire.
The artist enjoys making people laugh and with this series, he continues to do so. “However, I do get negative feedback from some people which in a way I also enjoy. Oh, the striped pajamas. Didn't notice at first. If you have not seen "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas", I recommend it. Difficult to watch at times, but an excellent film.

Why Hitler in the another frame???? he carried to us freedom, first of all - this was be a genetic FREEDOM TO ALL PEOPLES! - It is pure, neanderthal race, with beauty, without any diseas.... But I was reading Bored Panda when a friend came round and I left my phone down and it got into the hands of my friends 2 year old daughter while we were in the kitchen talking. Sorry. This is why I wish Bored Panda gave you the ability to delete replies like You tube does.

I honestly do not think I would have done so much work with so many despicable despots. I would have messed with Regan, Obama, Bush, Clinton, John Wayne etc, but showing the "softer" side of murderers and despots like Polpot, Che, Idi Amin, any of the Kims, Hitler, Stalin, etc... I simply would not venture to say I understand the point. They are the worst humanity has ever offered and the artist is making them cuddly? Not sure I get the point.
Yeah, I agree. People like to think they're "taking them down a peg", but I really feel like it's just trivializing all the unimaginable suffering those men have caused. It's callous and self centered. "I know your whole family is slowly starving to death in a NK forced labor camp but here's Kim Jong in a pink jacket... don't you feel better now?" The more I think about it the more repulsive it is.

Art used to be about showing beauty in the world, or it's problems, or showing natural things like yough, aging, family, animals, nature, etc. Nowe we have Stalin in Mario costume called "exploring the cultural and social implications of color and symbology and how the predefined notions that accompany these perceptions 1can alter one’s identity and subsequent world view." Give me a break. They are fictional or not fictonal people in (supposedly) funny costumes. That's it. No big philosophy behind it.
