Experts Say Dogs Dream About Their Humans, People Can’t Stop Crying
53Kviews
Latest research claims that when dogs sleep, they are dreaming about their humans. This was published in People magazine’s interview with an expert from Harvard University. This news hit us over a week ago, but dog owners can’t seem to get over it. Dogs are already famous for being ‘man’s best friend’, but now we know that their loyalty and unconditional love extend to their dream zone too…
”Since dogs are generally extremely attached to their human owners, it’s likely your dog is dreaming of your face, your smell and of pleasing or annoying you,” Dr. Deirdre Barrett told People magazine.
This excerpt from the article has had more than 60,000 retweets. It’s like dog owners’ hearts just split open with love and people won’t stop weeping and crying, especially when they see their furballs sleeping. They keep wondering ‘Are you dreaming of me, my sweet little pooch?’…
We can only guess, but the prospect is heart-warming. Let’s admit that it takes the dog loyalty thing to the next level…

I hope I am not insensitive now, but why are these people posting pictures of them crying? That mammals dream (a lot) was known before, and that for a dog the focal points of his or her life (his pack, and thereby, his human family) would be subject of the dreams feels like a confirmation of what dog owners would have guessed. The research is compelling, but it does not make your dog any more loyal than he or she already is. Which is extremely loyal already. Do not get me wrong; a sleeping dog is always a pleasant sighting, and being aware of how much you mean to your furry friend is definitely good. But I simply do not get the crying part...
I share your views and to be honest I can hardly believe that anyone can exactly know what dogs dream about.
Totally agree. And my dogs always seem to be dreaming about chasing other dogs or running in the park. I'm far from crying over this
Read the actual article in the link at the end. It's very informative. (Although I do cry over my dog. He is currently 2498.4 km away from me. T^T)
Yep, problably about hunting some pidgey, or running on the beach.
I agree Hans. I feel like some people probably did cry whilst reading this, but the selfie takers were probably aiming for "likes" ...lets be honest. I cry when I miss long distance friends... but I don't send them selfies of myself crying its .... odd.
I too have this problem with the crying part. Why are some so upset over that? My Charlie(avatar) sleeps with me on my queen bed, next to my head. He will always start out about 8-10 inches from me. But eventually he is always up against me, most of the night. If I move, he will again shift back on to me. He has to not only think of me, but he has to feel my presence as well. As an Alpha male, he looks to me for practically everything, and naturally studies my eyes and facial expressions. He's the greatest little guy, and perfect companion. I'll save my tears for when he finally leaves this world, and me.
Yeah. Any excuse for a selfie...
I think it's because there have been conflicting reports of whether or not dogs care about us the way we do about them. I think it's sweet. But yeah posting a pic of yourself crying is a bit much
Yeah, seems a bit much. Loyal they are and cute they be when sleeping, but why r their people crying over it?
I absolutely agree with you, funny, I just noticed that I always agree with your comments because they're very articulate and wise

Well... I guess, like how u explained about how it's natural for dogs to think about their pack, it's natural for humans to emote and cry...
@Pi: it is fine to be emotional, and probably we are too sterile nowadays, but tears of joy are a spontanuous thing, are they? Here people read a report, wait until their dog falls asleep, cry, yet be able to shoot a selfie whilst crying, and then post in on the Web. This chain of actions is incomprehensible to me.
They are dumbed down people desesperate for likes on FAKEbook, thats the true. Its a new "disease" named Egosclerosis. End....
Its sweet if they do but pictures of yourself crying over it, come on. The modern world has got hysterical.
ridiculous!
Wow you guys are hardasses. Of course people will cry over the bond they share with their pets, just like people cry over their bond with their children.
Pretty sure my cats only dream of annoying me -_-
Lol! Yours and mine both. That and how they plan on taking over the world.
My pup--the same thing!
