These days, we get submissions not only from the Icelandic tourism industry, but from all over the world and we are always on the lookout for a new story to add to our growing list of to-be-drawn experiences. That is why some of our comics are not Iceland-related, but tell the stories of our friends in other countries as well.

I heard american tourist talking about how the ferry was totally going under the fjord. Yes this open roof ferry is totally a submarine. -Cries in Norwegian-
Oh no. Icelandic tears joining in. Sorry. On a funny note we once had a woman asking if things were a fjord for the duration of a 12 hour tour. Like literally pointing at random things asking if it is a fjord. Then we drove past the actual fjord and informed her it was a fjord. She was unimpressed and asked "what is a fjord exactly?".

Anyone who has ever dealt with tourists will recognise all of these.
I know these comics are meant to be funny - but in fact they make me rather sad. I cannot stand people who always think they deserve something better and everybody else is only there to serve them and worship their stupidity! Having to deal with this kind of behaviour each and every day makes work an ordeal. I truly hope that for each single one of these customers from hell there are at least 100 other tourists who return from their tours happy and thankful that they had the opportunity to see the wonders and the beauty of Iceland!
Hey Yoga Kitty! Thank you for this. Yes, for each of these I met so many other beautiful people! It just evens out! Working in tourism was one of the most rewarding experiences in my entire life! I met hundreds of people daily, and made some great friends! So, yes, sometimes these make me sad, but knowing that it was all evened out makes it better. And the cherry on the cake is: most of these people got what they deserved :)

Anyone who has ever worked in the hospitality/ service industry has experienced dealing with unreasonable and self-entitled jerks and jerkettes. Where do these people come from? On what planet is it ever okay to treat someone like this? What happened to good manners?
I do not know! But I can tell you what I suspect: There is a hidden world just beneath this one where all of the entitled jerks live. They surface from time to time to haunt the rest of us.

I absolutely loved these. It was quite genius how you were able to combine humor with the annoying actions/incidents of all the customers. I don't think I've ever enjoyed reading something about this subject this much until I happened across this thread. Thank you for this, it really lifted my day.

Load More Replies... These people are all American... I can just feel it, I work in American retail and health care... yes we are THIS dumb, look at what our social system looks like. Also is any other country interested in adopting a lovely American couple (NOT dumb, but slightly socially awkward) with 2 tea cup humans, 1 fur child and excellent (almost Canadian like) manners? Will work for food and affordable health care
I want to travel to Iceland someday, I've heard it's beautiful. And don't worry, I'm nothing like these stupid tourists. I just hope I don't encounter people like this, because it would take all my willpower not to give them an earful.
