I Photographed Exorcism Rituals In Ethiopia

My name is David Tesinsky and I came to Ethiopia to find real exorcism rituals and it took me a while just to find one. I just earned some money, got a cheap flight ticket, found some contacts and I found myself in Addis Ababa. People were not really great in the beginning, I almost got robbed in a slum area where I supposed to stay overnight but in the end, there was just a big bloody fight between other two guys.

However finding such exorcism ritual took me many days of waking up around 4-5AM and visiting churches in hope there with be such possessed “client” who will also allow me to photograph it which wasn’t very real. After almost 2 weeks I found a place not too far from Addis Ababa where the ritual took place and with more than 150 people waiting for their turn to get to a priest Memehir.

People were crying, screaming, Memehir punched them and the question is if they felt better based on their fate or not because Memehir was actually thrown away from all the churches because he earned more money than the church itself. He kept asking for the money all the time, one very old woman gave him 100$ and he always wanted more even though 100$ is probably all she is able to earn in one month.

The human psyche is an incredible thing, as most people here genuinely believe there is something wrong with them. This may seem like something that could only happen in underdeveloped countries but it still happens in the western world. Sadly, people that will take advantage of this have no shame. I wonder how long it will be until the whole world stops believing in this nonsense. On a side note - the photos are great photos!

the chances are the majority of those people DO have something wrong with them but its more likely medical than mystical. and yes this priest or whatever is taking advantage of peoples beliefs and fears to make a profit. this kind of thing happens all over the world but everyone is entitled to their beliefs so long as it isnt to harm others. and until we are 100% sure of everything in the universe nothing is "nonsense".

In that part of the world, there's probably no such thing. There parts of the world where treating an infection by washing it in water is such an exotic treatment that someone has to travel for a day by bicycle to do it. And some of those places are very close to where these photos were taken. Don't imagine that everyone has the same access to medical resources as you do.

It's funny how atheists never become possessed. One would think they would be easy targets.

The comment section is filled with a bunch of atheist fucktards. Why don't all come to Ethiopia and see the real truth for yourself instead of sitting behind the screen and talking about how bad religion is. You all should know that those people you see on the pictures got cured from their illness and problems.

This one of the main reasons I hate religion. It suckers people into believing such nonsense, messing with their minds. Creating unnecessary guilt and sadness where there should not be in the first place. The fact that this "preacher" makes huge money off of it should be illegal. If he was really doing it to help people and serve God, then he should do it for free and not taking these people for everything they have. I hope he gets eaten by a crocodile. Slowly.

I have nothing against exorcism, but I have a thing against people who convince others that they need an exorcism because X or Y reason. On top of that, he's charging money for this... no wonder he's been expelled from churches, that says about what religious people think about his practices. Fantastic photos, it must have been difficult to capture the powerful moments of people abandoning themselves there!

You should have everything against exorcism. It denies ill people the medical treatment they need while stealing their money.

I do believe there could be such kind of places were people use others ignorance of the word of God for there evil gains but David why not check out other evangelical churches(Protestant churches ) around bole area or kera area like sign and miracles church ... Lots of churches were they do cast out the devil, any bad spirits, get healing from chronic illness, lift up curses or any demonic influence from other people's life ... For FREE as it is intended because God's healing power is given to us all for free. And you can photograph 😉 for free.
