this is neat to. But what works great woth jars for me: sticking a tableknife or back of a teaspoon between the edge of the lid and just twist it a little to break the vacuum, and then you can twist of the lid easily.

Please note that this refers to white vinegar (white wine or cider vinegar can work too) and definitely NOT balsamic like the picture. I use diluted vinegar with a few drops of essential oil as a spray for the garbage bin, and you can put it in the washing machine to get rid of musty smells in clothes. I always have a massive jug of white vinegar in the house, it's very useful. Oh, and for cleaning glass.

This. White vinegar can practically replace any other cleaning product and it's generally cheaper (and somewhat less toxic). Don't forget sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda) too.

In Germany we have Essigessenz = vinegar essence. It has a concentration of 25 % and can you can find it in the stores in the isle for oils and vinegars but also in the isle for cleaning products. :-)

One thing that balsamic vinegar IS good for is mixing with a little olive oil and rubbing into scratches on dark wood furniture (like mahogany). Hides scratches well. For everything else, white vinegar!

I mix white vinegar with a de-greasing liquid dish soap (like Dawn) to prevent soap scum in the shower. Just keep a spray bottle of the mixture handy and spray down after every shower. It works great.

I dilute vinegar with water and put in spray bottle to keep my cats away from my furniture and curtains. My neighbours dog kept crapping infront of my door, spray in morning and at night, dogo stopped crapping in my door way. They hate the smell and its not hazadous to them. It wont stain curtains or furniture either. Its a very good way to train cats too

Buy a gallon of "30% cleaning vinegar" at a big box supply store. Best all around cleaner/additive you can have around.

In the dog grooming industry, we also use (diluted) vinegar to spray on wet dogs to help them dry faster. Makes a significant difference and the smell doesn't stay.

It also kills mold and mildew, and removes the smell of urine.

Acetic acid, AKA regular white vinegar will remove surface rust from metal, like tools. Just let it soak in it.

baking powder does the job as well. had some bad blood stains on my favourite pants due to bleeding while pregnant. when I came home after an emergency c-section I restored said pants the their former glory. but you have to put it in cold water beforehand.

If you happened to buy the toy for frothing milk Ikea sells, you will do much better if you take quarter cup of milk, heat it for 10s on 800W in microwave and then froth it. (the milk does froth at about 40°C because the proteins start changing their shape and actually allow longer strands that are necessary to make the structure last.

this will work only when the highlighter has dried out and the pigments are still in it. If you do use it out and do try this, it will eventually stop highlighting.

I use sharpies on wood scratches. They come in lots of colors, and if you're quick, you can still wipe away excess to get a nice blend. They're permanent, so there's no need to worry about it coming off on people's hands or washing away.
