I'm so sick of "influencers" and such trying to get free crap. We have def gone wrong as a society to make people believe that this type of behavior is appropriate. I hope the restaurant owner replied back that they were glad she enjoyed the food and that she didn't need her influencers. Best response EVER to the Do You Know Who I Am ploy was when an entitled airport passenger demanded to be served ahead of the line and screamed it at the ticket agent. Who calmly picked up her microphone and announced "Assistance needed at Gate 5, we have a person who doesn't know who they are"

A New York City guy was in line at a Dollar Store here in Western North Carolina and just bypassed everyone to get to the cashier. Ya don't do that in this area. We forced him back to the farthest point, over and over til he finally left the store.
I love to put people like that in their place. I don’t care who you are or think you are (the most common case); if I’m a customer in that line, I am going to call you out loudly and publicly shame you for it—-just enough so you’ll come off your high horse and slink quietly back to the back of the line. Same goes for anyone berating a powerless low level employee who can’t talk back. When I was younger, I WAS that employee, and through no fault of my own, have been subjected to, and had to take, that kind of behavior. Back then, if anyone spoke up for me and stopped the abuse, I would bend over backwards to make sure I did anything I could for them. If I worked a hotel front desk, I would comp as much as I could get away with for them. If I worked retail, I would slide my employee discount code into the register when ringing them up. If they were regulars, I’d make sure to enter them into any valued customer program I could. That’s something people we always called “rebaters” (lying and bullying to try to get something for nothing) just don’t understand. You want good service? Well, as the old saying goes “you can kill more flies with honey than you can with vinegar”. Kind customers get better service, regardless of who (they think) they are.

I've worked in a few positions where I got the whole "Do you know who I am?" bullshit. My response was always (and it's ALWAYS women) - "Yes, Ma'am I do. And I don't f*****g care, move along".
My father told me that when he was on National Service, a group he was with were playing about in an office area where they shouldn't be and the phone rang. One of his friends answered it rudely. Certain people make you wish being an @$$hole was excruciatingly painful.
Once I was on a plane, almost empty, and I'm trying to lie down, because the seets next to me were empty. So I'm getting comfotable( And I'm a 5 year old) and this Karen taps on my shoulder, shakes her head at me, and says" You're disturbing the other passangers" I just nod, but I'm thinking, What other people? There is literally 3 other 8 people on this whole plane!( I don't have pictures)
Posts like this just get me so riled up. People being so stupid and ignorant is the last thing I want to deal with. No anger to the writer, of course! Only to the idiotic people in this thread. I can't understand how people can have such a lack of compassion and empathy or understanding for other human beings, truly. To calm down I will now listen to girl in red for a bit :P

Prior to Covid I traveled the country working autoshows. A few years back I'm working the Pittsburgh. Got off work, ordered Chinese takeout from a hole in the wall. Placed my order, and then sat in the lobby staring at my phone. A white family comes in. Out of courtesy, I acknowledge them by head nodding like how black dudes greeting in passing. A few seconds goes by and the dad impatiently asks, "So are you going to seat us or what?" Mind you, I'm wearing a full suit with a magnetic name badge that clearly says my name and Ford Motor Company. This is where the story could've ended but I decided to be a d**k. So I got up, grabbed some menus, and sat them. Promptly sat my ass back down. Dad blurts out he's ready to order. When he asks why I'm not writing anything down, I reassured him I memorized everything...only to sit right back in the lobby. Dad is livid. Confronts me. Owner overhears commotion, brings out my food. Stare family dead in the eyes, point to my name badge, & strut out. Nick-Auto-...8ddb9e.jpg
