Russian artist Vera Shimunia has truly mastered the art of embroidery pattern painting. Instead of using paints to create beautiful views, Vera uses her embroidery skills to create amazing artworks that have to be seen to be believed.
Using a vast array of colors, the richly textured works seem to jump out of the canvas, depicting the beauty of nature - big skies, deep blue seas, and the autumnal forest in a variety of sizes. The embroidery art is really pushing the boundaries of creativity at the moment, particularly in Russia. You can see more of her unique artworks from a previous post here.

your work is truly AMAZING !!!! I worked on large scale embroidery machines ( up to 14 head machines ) for years ... and your mini-masterpieces are hands down ..the best and most interesting yarn art i have EVER SEEN .... your understanding of light is breathtaking !!!
Love the color combinations you use, they are very unique and beautiful, you are inspiring.
It takes a real talent to place those individual threads before any others like that in this way knowing what the final result is going to be. I mean if it's a straight border it seems like it would be easier but when it's a fluid paint stroke of blended colors....how incredible is it to mimic that with different yarns? That's some talent.
Embroidery is such a talent. One that I plan on learning some day. Vera Shimunia you should check out Fearsome Beast embroidery. She's got a cool way of showing her work and it seems to sell quite well and it's expensive.
I would love to have them as badges! You should sell them!!
