12 Stunning 'Embroidery' Cakes By Leslie Vigil That Look Too Pretty To Eat
Leslie Vigil describes herself as a cake artist and you probably couldn’t come up with a better description for her. Vigil is whipping up such elaborate cake ideas, they definitely belong in a gallery. For her recent colorful collection, Tapestry Cakes, the Flour Child used icing as “stitches” to craft stylized flowers, symmetrical laurel leaf patterns, and other details on her beautiful cakes.

These cakes definitely have a Mexican folk vibe to them. You can totally picture Frida Kahlo wearing a dress with similar embroidery patterns. In some of her works, Leslie mixes it up a little, adding other influences, for example, Russian influences. “I love the idea of harmonizing textile embroidery traditions into my cake designs from different cultures,” she said.
Almost too good to eat
Never. unless you mean they sacrificed taste to make things 'artsy' at which point... I'd say its a waste. Still the decorations are impressive... but I'm eating it.
I have an obsession with cake and embroidery, so I believe you just broke me <3
