100-Year-Old Man Can’t Let Go Of His Dying Wife’s Hand After 77 Years Of Marriage
“Death ends a life, not a relationship”, Mitch Albom once said. There is nothing more beautiful than a bond between two people that transcends existence. Redditor RealLiveGirl shared a photo of such a relationship. It’s titled ‘My Grandma, 96, with my Grandpa, 100, hours before her death this weekend. 77 years of marriage’ and in it you can see an elderly man refusing to let go of his wife’s hand during her final moments. We all have to die sometime and if there’s such a thing as a “good” way to go, it’s definitely laying in a warm bed and holding hands with your loving spouse.

even though this is sad I am happy to see a couple fulfill their entire lives together and rest together. this is a relationship goal for sure!
My eyes are raining for this beautiful, devoted husband and wife. Imagine the world if we were all so richly blessed with such enduring love.
My father died a fortnight ago and for the last three months of his life he held my mother's hand but she wasn't there when he died, being very ill herself. My sister was, though, so he held her hand instead and he died while she was hugging him.
Sorry for your loss Pip. Sounds like a sweet family.

I imagined he thinks about old times the day when he met her for the first time.. then fell in love. Promised her they will be together forever. It such a powerful image. Thank you for sharing.
This is a lovely testimony to their life long devotion to each other. Beautiful.

Such a beautiful moment, I hope I'm there holding my mom when she passes.
How dare you state the obvious, decent question, when most would prefer to use these old saps as template for their idealized love notions!
