Rare Photos Of Marilyn Monroe Taken Before Her Worldwide Fame Show Her Modeling In Pinup Style

In 1946, a talented photographer Richard C. Miller invited a pin-up girl of the American Armed Forces to pose for him in a photo shoot. He didn’t yet know, though, that his 19-year-old swimsuit model Norma Jeane Dougherty would eventually become world’s most iconic famous actress – Marilyn Monroe.
Years later, Richard commented how, as he was taking the beautiful pictures of then brunette Norma, he had no idea those images would become so valuable. For him, “she was just a sweet, attractive pin-up model with a lot of ambitions.”
His entire vintage photo collection, valued at approximately between $60,000 and $80,000, is set to be sold at Santa Monica Auctions on 7th October. One of the highlights of the auctioned photographs will be Marilyn wearing a wedding dress from her first marriage.

On October 7th, this year, photographs taken by Richard will be auctioned at Santa Monica Auctions
The value of these early pictures of Marilyn are estimated to be between $60,000 and $80,000
The contract signed by the star will also go to auction
Among the photographs to be auctioned, a photo of Marilyn wearing a wedding dress from her first marriage will also appear

Is it weird that I find her more beautiful in these shots where she is more natural and candid than in the more posed and artificial photos?
In fairness, she had work on her nose and chin so she is more natural in these photographs. Though beautiful before and after in my opinion.
I didn't know that. She doesn't look like the same person. Attractive but a lot different.
Not a single one of these photos is "candid". They are ALL posed - complete with makeup and I'm sure the occasional touchup during developing.

@Night Owl - to be fair, she's also only 19 years old in these photos, and at the time (she was born in 1928), photographers almost never took pictures of people who weren't smiling. You can definitely see what she's going to look like after the baby fat in her face goes away -and she starts to look like a grownup. In these pictures, she really is just a kid.
Yes I agree, she had such beauty before she was convinced that she wasn't good enough, she fell into the wrong hands, so sad !!!

In fairness these photos were not taken out of desperation on her part or to show her sexiness on the photographers. I agree she is radiant and herself not a parody of what someone else wanted her to be

Big fan here, I've seen a ton of pictures. How wonderful to see actual rare Marilyn photos! By their very nature, they're becoming fewer and fewer. Nose and chin jobs aside, that there is still a beautiful woman.
