When grad student Molly Lichtenwalner who suffers from anxiety disorder saw Otitis, the earless white cat, she immediately understood they were meant for each other. Otitis, whose former owners surrendered him after the cysts in his ears and the removal of his hearing organs made him deaf, couln’t have asked for a better owner – Molly used to have a deaf pup, and has her own ways when dealing with pets with special needs. She showered the poor thing with love – and the feline gave all that goodness back in return – and more…
“I was having severe anxiety as a result of a car accident… I decided it was time for me to adopt an animal to help with my anxiety, because nothing helped me more than snuggling some furry friends,” Molly told Love Meow. Otitis turned out to be the best emotional support cat Molly could have hoped for. The feline feels so grateful for being rescued, he wants to give Molly snuggles all the time!
Otitis knows how to help her when she’s really stressed or having a panic attack. “He is some times the only thing that can calm me down… He’s the best thing I ever did and he definitely rescued me, I didn’t rescue him.”
“Living with him is an absolute dream! He is the most loving, snuggly cat and he makes me feel so loved,” Molly told Bored Panda.

I always wonder why people just surrender their pet when it becomes a special-needs pet. I mean... Do you give up your partner/child/parents/.. when they have an accident/disease and they have special needs? Good thing there are wonderful people like Molly here. Thanks for adopting this beautiful cat.
Sadly, some people DO abandon their partner/child/parents, etc.
it's a good sign that you don't understand that poor behavior - it's what separates the good people from the shallow poopieheads of the world.
I wouldn't surprised that these ... people... actually abandon their partner/child/parents with special needs.
Sadly, many people do. I started a small, private animal shelter when I moved to my present home (our county does not have a public shelter) because so many people were dumping sick/old/disabled pets here in the woods. And most begin to thrive again with a little TLC.

Humans are animals to the only thing separating us from them is our ability to adapt to new environments, and our technological advancements through millions of years. There have also been studies on how dogs and humans have similar emotions. I’m not trying to take away from the fact that to US as people we view ourselves as more important then animals, but there are people who actually care about the happiness and well being of animals and the environment. Just saying. -_-
Chris - you're right. To compare humans to pets is not logical... Pets are more loyal than lots of people I know. And their love in unconditional. The same can't be said for many humans. Humans keep score, and make their needs are met.
I agree with Eulalie.Pets don't leave you.Mine outlasted a long relationship & a guy who couldn't stand fur on his clothes. Too bad.Pets 1st
