Think of the internet as the Wild West. It’s a place to share whatever you think of virtually anything, post things that you want, and engage in stuff that interests you, all in the comfort of your home. And while it’s our go-to place for connection, news and information, communication and work, people are different and so is the content.

So this time, we’re taking a look at some examples of clueless people sharing questionable arguments, fake news, illogical conspiracies, and anything in between. Thanks to “The Stupid Police”, every little bit of dumbness spotted online gets busted, screenshotted, and shared on their Twitter page.

With 144.1K followers, “The Stupid Police” is dedicated to “posting the most stupid internet moments,” and it’s basically a wall of shame for any post which lacks good judgment and common sense.

Imagine announcing you don't care about homeless people, and seeing nothing wrong with it.

YEAH because the Meaning of Caring is saying "HEY Community Members go sleep on a f*****g park bench because thats the best anyone wants to do for you" Mathew Goods Song 21 Century Living has a line about throwing a non-perishable item in a donation bin at Christmas. And patting your self on the f*****g back because you think youve done something decent.

This isn't a "dumb moment", it's systemic oppression of disadvantaged people.

I'm not homeless, but I can't stand for long periods of time either. After about 5 minutes I need to sit. Can you tell me why I can't sit down and wait for the subway?

How much did they spend to remove the benches? Could they not have used it to help at least one person permanently get off the streets?

Somehow they believe that making us homeless people miserable will end homelessness. It's like we'll get tired of it and go home.

Oh dear, thank goodness I don't live there! I am confined to using a walker because of a bad hip and back! I can at least sit on my walker, but how about all those who can't? Who HAVE to sit on a bench or seat?

Try getting a freaking job and earning money and paying rent/buying a home, and buying food instead of living off taxpayers because of laziness, or being a drunk or a drug addict (which is NOT a disease). Or just being a loser who thinks it's a God given right to have things handed to you, whine about wanting free education, free medical care, blah blah blah.

America 2021 - particularly on the right: making sure people we think are undeserving receive not one crumb of unpaid-for comfort is far more important than helping those we (hypothetically) agree deserve it, e.g. pregnant, elderly, disabled.

Yeah its either have benches and the homeless constantly harassed to move along as they arent aloud to sleep there or just remove them. The people who think the homeless should be sleeping on benches are people who have never worked in a job dealing with them and wouldnt do anything as a solution. "I would Never sleep on a bench but homeless people should" who cares that they can be robbed or attacked while asleep in an unsecure place.

No-one's saying homeless people *should* sleep on benches. But that having no place to sleep is even worse than having an awful place to sleep. Or do homeless people benefit from not having access to benches and I'm just not aware of it? (Are they aware of it?)

All our benches were removed at the start 9f covid, they didn't want people to be hanging out or getting to close.

New Yorker here. People here seem to be ignoring the reality of the many commuters who are seriously disadvantaged by homeless people camped out with tons of stuff, many of whom are unstable, unbathed and potentially dangerous. Additionally station has an unusually narrow platform. Imagine getting off the subway with a stroller and a child in hand and having to choose whether to walk by a guy masturbating or someone muttering angrily while walking in circles in order to reach the exit. I have compassion for the homeless but their needs have to be weighed against those of the millions (yes, millions!) of daily MTA commuters.

Hey Pandas, let’s do some digging on who complained so much about the homeless on benches. Let’s start a new term. Subway Karen, this bit*h rides public transportation and complains about us low life’s. Dig and research Pandas

The subway is not exactly the best place for them, so there's probably some logic to this. In London, underground stations are locked up at night, so you wouldn't want people sleeping down there.

But if the homeless are sleeping on them that still makes them inaccessible to the pregnant, disabled, and elderly...

people, homeless or not, sleeping/laying on benches is very rude, think of it like putting your feet up on the seat next to you while riding bus during rush hour. they do have a few benches in the subway systems that have armrests every 2-ish feet though, so each person only gets to take up one seat. IDK why there aren't more of those. there really should be

Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind The Stupid Police Twitter page, which currently has 145.1K followers. “I was thinking about creating a gimmick account for a while so I went through and tried to think of ideas that haven't been done before,” they told us. “This included cross-referencing viral tweets to find a similarity, looking through subreddits and searching through memes to find common similarities.”

The idea to create The Stupid Police came after its creator found “stupid Yahoo answers questions and stupid old tweets and I realized this was an unclaimed idea.” The instant success of the page can be attributed to the preparation which went before the page was even launched. “I didn't start the account with that, nor have I been posting that type of content because I knew they wouldn't go viral,” the creator said.

What they did instead was compiling “a list of viral-worthy tweets which all went viral, resulting in the blow up of this account.”

When asked if there’s a lot of dumb content surfing around on the internet, the creator of The Stupid Police confirmed that’s exactly the case. “I would say the main reason would be ignorance, but there are also people who want to feel special and do attention-seeking things,” they commented.
