Think of the internet as the Wild West. It’s a place to share whatever you think of virtually anything, post things that you want, and engage in stuff that interests you, all in the comfort of your home. And while it’s our go-to place for connection, news and information, communication and work, people are different and so is the content.

So this time, we’re taking a look at some examples of clueless people sharing questionable arguments, fake news, illogical conspiracies, and anything in between. Thanks to “The Stupid Police”, every little bit of dumbness spotted online gets busted, screenshotted, and shared on their Twitter page.

With 144.1K followers, “The Stupid Police” is dedicated to “posting the most stupid internet moments,” and it’s basically a wall of shame for any post which lacks good judgment and common sense.

Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind The Stupid Police Twitter page, which currently has 145.1K followers. “I was thinking about creating a gimmick account for a while so I went through and tried to think of ideas that haven't been done before,” they told us. “This included cross-referencing viral tweets to find a similarity, looking through subreddits and searching through memes to find common similarities.”

The idea to create The Stupid Police came after its creator found “stupid Yahoo answers questions and stupid old tweets and I realized this was an unclaimed idea.” The instant success of the page can be attributed to the preparation which went before the page was even launched. “I didn't start the account with that, nor have I been posting that type of content because I knew they wouldn't go viral,” the creator said.

What they did instead was compiling “a list of viral-worthy tweets which all went viral, resulting in the blow up of this account.”

I'm worried that there are people who aren't waterproof.

Well none of us are waterproof. When submerged water can get inside stop our internal mechanisms from working. Most people are water-resistant.

tbh, if it's a light rain or sprinking, I will just walk though it. But if you're dumbass don't know umbrellas are needed for medium to heavy, then you're just straight up stubborn or stupid.

I barely used umbrella more than 10 times in my entire 43 years (tomorrow) of my life. I like rain

I would use an umbrella in the shower if I never wanted to be clean, lucky I do lol. I hate getting wet unless I actually want to (which isn't often).

When asked if there’s a lot of dumb content surfing around on the internet, the creator of The Stupid Police confirmed that’s exactly the case. “I would say the main reason would be ignorance, but there are also people who want to feel special and do attention-seeking things,” they commented.

It also didn't totally disappear since a case to two still crops up once in a while.

Curious - why doesn't anyone use thirds when telling time? "Third past eight" = 8:20 :P

It depends if it's wet with shower water or rain water, of course. And cold water or hot water. B
