Think of the internet as the Wild West. It’s a place to share whatever you think of virtually anything, post things that you want, and engage in stuff that interests you, all in the comfort of your home. And while it’s our go-to place for connection, news and information, communication and work, people are different and so is the content.

So this time, we’re taking a look at some examples of clueless people sharing questionable arguments, fake news, illogical conspiracies, and anything in between. Thanks to “The Stupid Police”, every little bit of dumbness spotted online gets busted, screenshotted, and shared on their Twitter page.

With 144.1K followers, “The Stupid Police” is dedicated to “posting the most stupid internet moments,” and it’s basically a wall of shame for any post which lacks good judgment and common sense.

Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind The Stupid Police Twitter page, which currently has 145.1K followers. “I was thinking about creating a gimmick account for a while so I went through and tried to think of ideas that haven't been done before,” they told us. “This included cross-referencing viral tweets to find a similarity, looking through subreddits and searching through memes to find common similarities.”

The idea to create The Stupid Police came after its creator found “stupid Yahoo answers questions and stupid old tweets and I realized this was an unclaimed idea.” The instant success of the page can be attributed to the preparation which went before the page was even launched. “I didn't start the account with that, nor have I been posting that type of content because I knew they wouldn't go viral,” the creator said.

What they did instead was compiling “a list of viral-worthy tweets which all went viral, resulting in the blow up of this account.”

When asked if there’s a lot of dumb content surfing around on the internet, the creator of The Stupid Police confirmed that’s exactly the case. “I would say the main reason would be ignorance, but there are also people who want to feel special and do attention-seeking things,” they commented.

It also didn't totally disappear since a case to two still crops up once in a while.

Curious - why doesn't anyone use thirds when telling time? "Third past eight" = 8:20 :P

It depends if it's wet with shower water or rain water, of course. And cold water or hot water. B

1lb of feathers is heavier than 1lb of metal considering you have to carry around the weight of what you did to those poor birds.

Gold ounces are slightly different from normal ounces. It is known as the 'troy ounce'. There are only 12 troy ounces to a troy pound of gold as opposed to 16 normal ounces in a regular pound. So the pound of gold is lighter than the pound of bread.

The feathers, because you have to carry the weight of what you did to those poor birds.

Probably black, too. It's like making jokes about blondes: allowed if you're blond yourself 😉

Well I mean they are both people of colour so maybe it's more acceptable in that context? I know me and my LGBTQ friends call each other things as a joke that we wouldn't want anyone else to call us.

'A fpound of feathers vs a pound of metal'? actually depends on which metal because gold and silver use troy weight while other metals use avoirdupoise weight.

Actually, the left one is slightly lighter, with 20.4 kg. Every kilogram is 2.2 pounds. 20.4 *2.2 =44.88. 44.8 <45.

Just imagine how much heavier 45 lbs. of metal is than 45 lbs. of feathers.

Used to ask people - 'which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of gold?' Smart ppl would answer - 'they are both a pound!' I'd come back with - 'sorry, feathers is avoir dupois - 16 ounces to a pound. Gold is troy - 12 ounces to a pound'.

Well if both feather and iron are 1 lb in **weight** measured on earth surface at standard temperature and pressure, feather is actually heavier in **mass**. Because weight is the measure of gravity force applied to any object, and the air applies more buoyant force to feather in opposite direction.
