Think of the internet as the Wild West. It’s a place to share whatever you think of virtually anything, post things that you want, and engage in stuff that interests you, all in the comfort of your home. And while it’s our go-to place for connection, news and information, communication and work, people are different and so is the content.

So this time, we’re taking a look at some examples of clueless people sharing questionable arguments, fake news, illogical conspiracies, and anything in between. Thanks to “The Stupid Police”, every little bit of dumbness spotted online gets busted, screenshotted, and shared on their Twitter page.

With 144.1K followers, “The Stupid Police” is dedicated to “posting the most stupid internet moments,” and it’s basically a wall of shame for any post which lacks good judgment and common sense.

Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind The Stupid Police Twitter page, which currently has 145.1K followers. “I was thinking about creating a gimmick account for a while so I went through and tried to think of ideas that haven't been done before,” they told us. “This included cross-referencing viral tweets to find a similarity, looking through subreddits and searching through memes to find common similarities.”

The idea to create The Stupid Police came after its creator found “stupid Yahoo answers questions and stupid old tweets and I realized this was an unclaimed idea.” The instant success of the page can be attributed to the preparation which went before the page was even launched. “I didn't start the account with that, nor have I been posting that type of content because I knew they wouldn't go viral,” the creator said.

What they did instead was compiling “a list of viral-worthy tweets which all went viral, resulting in the blow up of this account.”

When asked if there’s a lot of dumb content surfing around on the internet, the creator of The Stupid Police confirmed that’s exactly the case. “I would say the main reason would be ignorance, but there are also people who want to feel special and do attention-seeking things,” they commented.

It also didn't totally disappear since a case to two still crops up once in a while.

Curious - why doesn't anyone use thirds when telling time? "Third past eight" = 8:20 :P

Wheelchair user here and when going up a steep hill someone legit asked me why I didn't just get out and push the chair up the hill because it would be easier. The amount of people who assume I can walk blows my mind. I can't even stand. Yes I know some wheelchair users can stand and walk but majority of users can't walk and people are shocked when they find this out

Because then the unemployment and disability cops will catch you using the legs.

I use a wheelchair because I have a severe balance disorder but my legs are fine, so I fall into the tiny minority of people who actually could use this. (Incidentally, statistically more than half of all wheelchair users are ambulatory wheelchair users. Ambulatory wheelchair users get a crazy amount of ableism and there's a lot of ignorance around ambulatory wheelchair users.)

If this is a joke... it is pretty rude. If it is a serious question then you are an idiot.

I mean, some wheelchair users can walk, just not for very long or without pain. Pedalling (which doesn't involve supporting the body - a source of leg pain and fatigue) might be an option for them.

I use a wheelchair if I have to walk the entire day (Going to a theme park for example) but I can't pedal, I can't even use a bike for long moments so no. There's not many who can use their feet in a wheelchair.

It depends if it's wet with shower water or rain water, of course. And cold water or hot water. B
