And some of the participants are even redoing their old pencil sketches, which makes the effect of the then and now comparison so much stronger. You could recreate any artist on a computer - this is why Banksy is so great
No, you can’t. Digital art takes just as much effort as traditional art. ( I mean, I WISH I could recreate my favorite artist’s work just using technology )

modern technology has come too far in respect of art -- when you struggle to see if something is drawn, painted or simply done on a computer - that is not art. Amazing images are great, whether photoshop or done from scratch, but sometimes it is hard to tell the difference which degrades the work of the folks using real pencils, real paint and real brushes
that a good point, I mean, it's still a skill to be able to create the images with a computer, you have the imagination to start something, I'm not sure everyone could create a mona lisa with just photoshop... but the whole copy and paste technique does take a bunch of the skill away from the challenge
You have literally no idea what you're talking about, do you?
I wish there were more hand drawn stuff... Even though they're beautiful, tehcnology improves, and it's easier to delete mistakes you've made, but handmade will always be nicer for me, with flaws and all.
*opposed to digital art
that's crap. You wait til your acryl paint is dry and paint over. Same thing.
An Artist in traditional mediums cannot just delete and redo til they get it right. every touch to the canvas or paper has to be perfect 1st time, particularly in watercolours.
Exactly. Though I feel the so called mistakes are what make art great in the first place. The way watercolour flows is never the same, no matter how "perfect" you try and make it.
Now, I agree with some aspect, but mistakes and flaws is what makes art so great. If everybody was perfect at art it wouldn’t have any value.
am gritting my teeth here and posting a pic i painted from National Geographo 1967 . i still have the original photograph and have the original cover with the Afgan girl - which i somewhere started to paint refugee-5b...d58cab.jpg
