Trump’s Interview With Jonathan Swan Results In Hilarious Jokes (30 Pics)
After an intense interview with a respected Aussie journalist, US President Donald Trump has just become a meme.
The discussion between Trump and Axios' national political correspondent, Jonathan Swan, aired on HBO this week. Swan grilled the President about the US' response to the coronavirus pandemic, with Trump insisting the situation in the US was “under control”.
Swan, however, was not content with the answer and continued to ask Trump what he meant, highlighting throughout the interview that “a thousand Americans are dying a day”. He appeared confused by the President’s responses, and photos of his perplexed reactions went viral. Soon, Internet users started doing what they do best: using the images in all sorts of contexts with (ironic) captions to express their opinions on pretty much everything. "It is what it is," Trump said, appearing indifferent to the COVID-19 death toll that has reached 150,000 in the States. When he was challenged, Trump responded with answers that CNN has called 'nonsensical'.

"We're lower than the world," the President said in 'an incomprehensible' response when pressed on why 1,000 people die due to coronavirus every day in the US.
"We're lower than the world," the President said in 'an incomprehensible' response when pressed on why 1,000 people die due to coronavirus every day in the US.
Most memorably, however, Trump threw a small tantrum ("You can't do that!") when Swan pressed him to discuss the reality of his coronavirus response beyond one specific graph his staff had printed out for the interview, handing the journalist the paper when he found himself unable to make sense of the statistics.
As the meme is getting more and more popular, numerous people have said that Swan's facial expressions during the interview is the epitome of our collective reaction to 2020 in general. And you can't argue with that.
He's so ridiculous! If he wasn't a head of state he will be so funny. The whole world were thinking "Bush junior was the worst president ever, really dumb, the americans can't choose a worst president than him" and then Trumps comes and the whole world were facepalming. The history schoolbooks will be very interesting after him.
Yeah, lets not go reminding everyone about how Trump resembles Toad.
Yes, but it took more than thousand year since i paint my wall every 10 year
My mom decided to re-wallpaper our livingroom and found that there were 27 layers of previous paper on there. So in effect, when they removed all of those layers the room DID get bigger.
Wow, that's a lot of wallpaper. I wonder how old your house is.
Load More Replies...Trump is letting thousands of Americans die every week and he is doing nothing so don't vote trump
Load More Replies...And wow, Trump has got the experience in going bankrupt. Sad part is that presidents of bankrupt countries can't just say "Well, that's all folks!" and bail out like he used to do when he was a businessman.
Fridges around the world keep your food warm if it gets colder than 32 degrees. I think they meant 'Freezers in Antarctica actually keep your food warm'
Getting away from a mass shooting is one of the lifesaving skills you're thought at school, though...
"It is what it is" is the most defeatist and hopeless statement spoken at a time when the country needs .... HOPE. The morbidly obese pathological lying vindictive narcissistic imbecile with the emotional maturity of a toddler (AKA tRump) is a horrible, horrible, horrible person.
He hopes that she doesn't accidentally shoot herself in the head twice.

That interview was amazing, it was golden. It is a sort of gold that got stuck in the dumpster that's on eternal fire in the septic tank of hell, but that was sadly one of the most hilarious comedy sketches I've seen. Initially, the word "village idiot" came to mind, but that doesn't work, because I'd have some level of empathy for that. I think I ran out of proper adjective.
I had to switch languages to keep up th eadjectives.
It really is incredibly sad thinking there are people who look at him and see anything even remotely resembling intelligence, competence, or decency.
Or even sex appeal??? I don't comprehend anything either...
Some people are attracted to power. POTUS has a lot of power in a way. That's how I reason it.
The interview is just "white noise" (no pun) at this point. Everyone who knows, knows. Everyone in the Trump Cult will defend him no mater what comes out of his gob.
Careful, if Trump gets wind of this he'll ban Bored Panda - just like TikTok!
He doesn't care...
Those expressions are so "Aussie", they have an accent. Seriously - this was a brilliant interview.
Couldn't resist. boredpanda...8457ec.jpg
Watching yet another interview with this dolt, I do wonder at what point he can be declared mentally unhinged?
The ones with super random "facts" are the funniest ones.
Now this was funny
Most the jokes on those papers were far too clever for Trump to come up with ... or understand.
He is just such a fucking embarrassment.
And this guy runs the most powerful country in the world! (:

That interview was so funny. If you aren’t crying over the President, you might as well laugh
only like the first two were good, the rest were good, but less...

shower thought trump. these show how deep and clever and intelligent the POTUS trump is
Several of these are very clever, but that has the crappy consequence of making Trump seem clever in these images, and he is NOT clever.
Swan's expression eloquently says what most of the nation has been saying for the last 4 years.

"C'mon, man" (a quote from a contender). Swan shows two facial expressions and the meme reprints them over and over. GOVERNORS, not the Office of the President, control the mandates in their states--like reopening too soon. This is Civics 101. Blaming the President for the spread of Covid-19 is ridiculous when you have anti-masker Americans.
Do you seriously think the President's policies and statements have zero effect on what local governments do?

Do a piece on all of Biden's gaffes.
It's quite amazing how that is the standard Trump voter reply. Honestly, have you formed some cult that is so blinded by the adoration of their esteemed leader? Are you really denying that he messed up in a tremendous, bigly and unsurpassed way? Do not try to find excuses because there are none. As Tweety the tangerine toddler tweeted himself a few years ago when he was criticizing Obama: "As a leader of the nation you are responsible for what happens and doesn't happen." And now he's in charge and suddenly that tweet is a lie? Makes you wonder about what more he's been lying for years now.
the standard Trump voter reply is usually a campaign slogan #MAGA or #Trump2020. This one showed a little (tiny actually, very tiny like the chance of Trump telling the truth on purpose tiny) glimmer of intelligence by actually making a whole sentence.
@WilvanderHeijden: He lies about everything. He doesn't even known what's a lie anymore. It's part of the psychopathology, is my guess. @Whoever complained about busing ---- gee, wanting to end a controversial practice (busing) versus having racist policies (no nonwhite tenants). I'm conservative. ALL politicians have their flaws and their scandals or would-be scandals. There's no point to be made by pointing that out. You just blare out the double standard "if they were bad, then it's okay for my guy to be bad". Really? To quote your darling Trump: "SAD".
OK. do one on all of Trump's. Starting with the early 1970s, when sued for not allowing nonwhites to rent at his properties. Got a few years for all those?... Only sling the mud if you're willing to get it slung right back, is what I'm sayin'.
@Goli Soda "Joe's gaffe's are making fun of his confused and ridiculous statements." So why are all Trumpvoters going berserk when we make fun of Donny's confused and ridiculous statements? After all, he was the JENIOUS behind buying Greenland, having a love affair with a sadistic murdering dictator, a tax-law reform so rich people would pay less on taxes than poor people, destroying laws to protect the environment and basically trying to kill the ACA pure out of spite against Obama, picking fights with his allies, starting a tradewar that left thousands of farmers on the verge of bankruptcy, blackmailing a government to provide him with compromising information about the son of his political opponent. his nepotism, his failure to lead a country in a pandemic, his bizarre statements and this list just keeps going on and on and on.
I'm not a Trump supporter and can't really say I'm behind Biden. I find it incredible that in a country of 300 Million people they are what we get as choices for a leader. That says a lot about us and our election process - and yes the media is partly to blame as well. I do support picking on Biden's gaffs and Trump's lies and/or gaffs - unfortunately mostly blatant lies- we picked on Bush Jr too. The difference in Bush Jr is he rose above it. He put smarter people in places of importance and listened to them (maybe he shouldn't have listened when Cheney pushed him into Iraq but that's a discussion for another day). What he did was realize that being at the top garners praise for national success and blame for national failure. He never took it personally that I ever saw and remained the better man. Like every politician I agreed with some of his decisions, disagreed with others. The difference in him and Trump though is I never lost respect for the man himself.
Goli - do you think busing was a good practice? Serious question. I know people who were bused and it was not the dream solution. The schools still segregated the students. (Created "honors" classes that only the white kids got into.)
