This Beer Company Puts Dog Photos On Cans To Help Them Get Adopted

It’s so wholesome to see companies helping those who are in need. This time, it’s a beer company lending a helping hand to dogs who have a hard time finding a forever home. The company in question is North Dakota-based brewery called Fargo. Recently, they teamed up with a local animal shelter and created beer cans that feature adorable pups looking to get adopted. Now beer and cute puppies go hand in hand, making the lovers of both very happy. Who wouldn’t love to crack open a cold one with the boys for the good bois?

This week, Fargo has introduced the new can of its Original Lager in the event hosted with the 4 Luv of Dog Rescue. The event was dedicated to the 6 featured dogs who happen to be ‘Oneders’. It means that these dogs have a harder time getting adopted because of their socializing issues with other dogs.

With so many families and foster carers already having at least one other animal on their hands, these poor puppies are doomed to wait a very long time for good placement.

“It’s our hope that through this event we can raise a little awareness about these ‘one’derful pooches and hopefully find them homes of their own!” Fargo wrote on Facebook.

The idea for collaboration popped into Jerad Ryan’s head. Ryan who volunteers at the shelter also works at a company that produces beer labels called Northern Plains Label.

“I approached my boss about donating beer can labels to a brewery willing to feature our dogs. He loved the idea. I asked Fargo Brewing if they would be willing to do this for us and they loved it too. They have gone above and beyond with donating profits and having an event where the public can come and meet our Oneder dogs, as they don’t get to attend events with the other dogs. The response from the community has already been amazing and heartwarming,” Ryan Told Food and Wine.

The limited-edition beer will available at Fargo’s brewery as long as supplies last. Hopefully, it will help the puppies get adopted!

All good boys and girls. Great idea. I'd also consider adding other animals looking for home. Another idea is that maybe some other companies put pictures of animals open for adoption on some nonalcoholic drinks. I hope there is some information about each dog on the can with his or her picture as well as contact info

This is a wonderful idea ! I wish Coca-cola and Pepsi would take up this initiative and do it world-wide.Not just dogs and cats, but also endangered species and where a small part of their profit could be donated to the various organisations that fight for the survival of these animals, and sadly always are struggling to find funds. We should not be known as the generation that really messed up.

This is all well and good but in Australia the adoption process is so stringent, they reject you based on whether you can afford obedience school and a number of other things that don't seem humanly possible. It's as if they don't want the dogs adopted out. I get that they can't just give the dog away to just anyone (not that they're actually free). but isn't a less than "perfect" home that can love and feed the dog better than it sitting in a shelter til it dies?

I was really surprised to read what Australia requests regarding adoptions of pets.Obedience school !?For more than 45 years I have adopted sight-hounds i.e Borzois, greyhounds and galgos and each and every one has had very traumatic pasts. It can take up to a year gaining the trust from an animal that has been used as target practice, stabbed, had the scull smashed and only by miracle survived or had his tail chopped off just for the fun of it.It takes a lot of loving care and numerous visits to vets.I have NEVER been asked to take them to obedience class and would flat out refuse to do so.My dogs are all well behaved,I simply let them know what is acceptable and what isn´t.Dogs love to please an owner that they trust. They all have the run of the house and garden...exception to rule,my white sofa.

I really like that they did this. This is so smart! I would put the contact info on, but still, great idea! Maybe it could list many dog shelters, because a lot of people don't even know the nearest one, like me. Get a dog from a shelter instead of a breeder, you know they put them down if they don't get adopted!

I work for a beer distributor who works with this brewery. Not everyone that buys beer is an alcoholic. Please don't generalize, and drink responsibly.
