No, giant dogs have not invaded earth. These photos of enormous pooches create the illusion of great size through the intentional or accidental use of mixed distances without clear reference points.

Hippolyte Bayard, a pioneer of photography who claimed to have invented photography earlier than Daguerre, was one of the first to stage a shot. His “Self Portrait As A Drowned Man” was a reaction to not being recognized as the first photographer.

Pandas, do you have any seemingly giant-dog pictures? Vote on your favorite, or post your own below!

The dog is simply too close to the camera for its shadow to show on the picture, I guess it would have been right under the frame level. No photoshop needed here.

It's real, part of a rapid series of him running to me, I was low to the ground. But the photoshop comments are fun.

It's running up and incline. You can't see the shadow because it's below your field of view.

this is the only photo, to me, that actually looks like a giant dog and not just that the dog is closer to the camera as with the other photos

The dog is at the crest of a little slope, and the shadow is cast slightly behind him where it can't be seen.

Photoshop. In the main image the shadows are very long indicating the sun was near the horizon. On the dog it is more angular suggesting that the sun was 20 -30 degrees above the horizon

Photoshop -The giveaway is the angle of the sun. In the main image the shadows are very long suggesting that it was taken with the sun near the horizon. On the dog the shadow it is more angular suggesting that the sun was 20 -30 degrees above the horizon.

No. The dog simply jumped. Hence the headline's "...perfectly timed"..

Agree with Alejandro, - no dog's shadow on the ground, looks suspicious

Pug! I love how pugs sit! Every pug I've ever lived with, every pug I've ever known, they all sit like this. I just can't get enough of this photo! I love everything about it! Bravo!
