Some people argue dogs are the best thing that happened to humanity. They're loyal, cheerful, friendly, smart... It's no surprise we get carried when they're around. We plan our lives around doggies, we spoil them more than we do our children, and tell them 'I love you' a 100 times a day. Yup, the shocking truth is that dog owners are pretty much owned by dogs.

Bored Panda created a list of tweets that shows just how canine-obsessed we are. Vote for your favorite and tell us if you recognized yourself in them.

As long as it is barking and does not extend to butt-sniffing, this is an exemplary deed!

One sign is not enough. I have three: one for each front window, and one for the front windshield. And it still didn't stop one "Do-Gooder" from castigating me when I returned. When she discovered that it was actually cool inside, she really got angry, because she was made to look the fool. I physically ran her off, so she could search for other guilty culprits.

My step mom has signs like this in her van lol. Its reads at the bottom in Capital letters, "MY DOG IS TREATED BETTER THAN MOST PEOPLE TREAT OTHER PEOPLE, SO PLEASE MOVE ALONG AND FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO TROLL."

A/C can malfunction though. Had a K9 police dog die in a brand new vehicle that way in our city. Just saying...

I was just in the department store and they had to call from the loudspeaker for the person who left her dog in the car. Leave dogs home.

Completely agree. If you're not going somewhere the dog can come, leave it at home. I would be scared someone would steal one of mine, they're so cute.

One time my mom did everything that this dog owner is doing, and literally ran inside for 5 minutes to get something from a store, but this well-meaning lady called the cops and my mom spent a couple hours trying to explain that she left the ac on and food and water for the dog.

Question: do you not need the engine on for the AC to be running? Does it not require your keys to be in the car? In this country it's illegal to have your engine on and car unattended...

A K9 dog in Tampa died when the squad car stopped running for whatever reason. I wouldn't want to risk it. I wouldn't be able to live with the guilt.

Not good enough. I have a "Prestige " system that is a two way communicator with my car. I can tell the temp inside at any time. I do leave the windows slightly open ( in case of an emergency ). I also have a note ( asked by the local police to post it ) with my phone number for anyone who has questions. The note states "Two dogs inside this vehicle with a special system installed to control and monitor the temp. If you should have any questions please call 401 ###-####. Thank you for showing your concern "Never a problem since then

Smart have stopped at many a car when I saw a dog was in there in the heat of the summer in Louisiana. I was ready to pop a window when the owner ran over and told me the air conditioning was on and showed me. Then I felt stupid. But hey dogs and kids get killed all the time by owners and parents accidentally leaving them in the car in the heat of the summer. Well with dogs it's intentional some times which makes it horrible.

I hate people who interfere. When my dog was a puppy about 11 weeks old, she only had one injection to go and the vet said that it would be okay to take her out if she was held in somebody's arms.. I was sitting outside a supermarket with her on my lap, and an old lady came up to me telling me off saying that my dog shouldn't be outside. I kept telling her that the vet (who had over 30 years experience) said it was okay, but she didn't listen

It's better to be safe than sorry and call the police. I would rather someone get questioned than a dog die.

NO it isn't, look you don't have to be a detective to put your hand on the window and see if it's hot, if the car and AC is running, or look at the dog and see how he is doing.

My dad used to put on the radio for the dogs. That way there was some music, then talking again and then music again

The nice thing about having a shih-tzu is that Charlie never has to sit in the rear. He just sits up front, on someone's lap, usually my left thigh and hangs his head out the window. :D

This is how I start a conversation with my classmates. They all know me as " the girl with two dogs who loves all the dogs." I'm not even mad tbh

Probably a little clarifier: I said that dog and man very well understand each other, although we can make little of "woof woof" and they little of "good boy" both in the exakt sense. We learn to interprete each others' body language, though. I am wondering if I write to complicated today or if the haters are on the prowl again...

aaah! whenever it happens to me, I tell them "I'm sorry" like a dozen times and even explain them what happen, that it was an accident, that I am not angry with them, that I hope they didn't get hurt, and so on... like they would understand what I'm saying.
