Dog-Sitter Does ‘Insane Amount’ Of Laundry At Client’s Home Without Realizing The Owner Gets Notified Each Time It’s Done
A confused dog owner turned to the r/Dogs community on Reddit for advice after they realized something was not quite right with the behavior of their dog sitter.
“In both the word doc I left for her and in the walkthrough of my house we never discussed my washer/dryer which are in my garage so I don’t think she even saw them. She never asked about doing laundry at my place either,” the author Krirhu explained.
However, when Krirhu was on holiday, they started receiving notifications of finished laundry loads. And not just one or two. “I know that in the 3 days she has been in my home she has done 9 loads of laundry, almost all on the ‘bedding’ setting which is water and heat intensive,” Krirhu wrote.
Understandably, this left the author utterly bewildered and wondering whether this is acceptable behavior and if not, how they could address it. But when Krirhu got back home, more bizarre discoveries were made.
A conflicted owner wonders if it’s acceptable for their pet sitter to do an “insane amount of laundry” without asking while they’re away on holiday

On the surface it does sound a bit petty but reading through it, I get ops point. I have a family of four and even when the kids were small, didn't often need to do 3 loads a day. For a dog sitter to do so at a clients home isn't what I would consider to be reasonable.
Agreed. I mean a load or 2 would be fine but 9 in 3 days? No that's too much. Also the sitter should have at least asked beforehand.
They literally stole her car.....lmfao.....she never gave permission to use the car nor even told her where the car keys are. She probably even drove it with the spare after she went rummaging through drawers. That is NOT a petty little problem lol.
Because you never mentioned you had a washer and dryer, she should not have used those facilities. Leaving the garage door open, was inconsiderate and could have been life-threatening for your cat. Using your vehicle, is blatant theft.
I've seen new Free Bleeders needing to do tons of laundry until they get the hang of it.
Oh look! Another reason why I will never ever free bleed. 🤮🤢. I have been menstruating for 28 years and I cannot fathom the idea of free bleeding. How did people free bleed in the era before period underwear (like ModiBodi or Thinx)? Those haven't existed for that long. I have two pairs of ModiBodi Sleepshort Maxi underwear and a pair of Knix (a Canadian brand) Super Leakproof Dream Shorts and the ModiBodi are far superior. Longer and with a fuller coverage gusset. I still wear pads with them because I don't believe in free bleeding. The "seams" on the Knix boy shorts fell apart in under two years. The ModiBodi have actual seams and the gusset area comes up higher in the front and back for people who sleep on their stomach or back. They are awesome. I wish I had known about ModiBodi before I bought the Knix.
Fire her. She damaged your home, took advantage of your appliances, and left the back door open, fercryinoutloud! How is this rocket science? Report this to the agency you use, and NEVER permit her anywhere near your house again. ................................... Also, change your locks NOW. She's already proven that she can't be trusted.

Where does it say that the sitter caused damage to the house?
Food in the recycling bin; door unlocked; garage door open; she drove the car; these are not things a guest should dop, certainly not a responsible pet sitter.
It says at the end of her initial response. Basically she left the house generally dirty and not well taken care of. Not destroyed just messy.
she drove the car and the tire was low, she may have hit a few curbs to do that
He wrote down everything that she had done when he got home and noticed his house in disarray, and he even said that he didn’t mention everything that was a mess in his house, did you even read where she drove his vehicle?
He? Are we sure OP is a he? The original post on Reddit has been taken down so we don't know if Krirhu is male or female (or they/them). Based on the "worrywart" comments they make, I have the idea that they are female. Women tend to worry a lot more than men. Perhaps a generalization, but somewhat true. Guys are a lot more willing to be passive aggressive in their responses to this type of situation. Again, somewhat of a generalization.
It could well be that she's moonlighting as a maid and therefore is doing other peoples' laundry at your house for pay. I had a scenario like that once and had to confront the woman that I was not someone else's laundromat (third party employer's laundromat)
It doesn't matter. The OP hired her to take care of the pets, NOT damage the house, use her machines, and leave the back door open so anyone could just wander in and clean her out.
That was my thought - she’s getting paid to do other peoples laundry and she gets to do it for free. I tell my pet sitters they can do laundry but this is ridiculous. The sitter didn’t respect her; otherwise, she would have at least cleaned up. I’d also worry the sitter had subcontracted the work since the door was unlocked. She needs to leave a review so others know
Either that or she is a Free Bleeder...
