Dog Won’t Stop Barking At This Stranger Who Stopped To Pet Him, Leads Him Into The Mountains To This Abandoned Baby
InterviewThe man named Junrell Fuentes Revilla was riding his motorbike on what seemed to be a day like any other, through the mountains of Cebu, Philippines. Suddenly, a dog came out of nowhere and started running right after him. The four-legged boy was barking relentlessly as if he was desperate to tell something to Junrell.
Sensing that something was not quite right, Junrell stopped his motorbike and followed the dog to see where he led him. The dog took him right to a dumpsite, where a tiny bundle was lying. It turned out, this was a newborn baby boy wrapped in a brown towel and left completely abandoned.
But thanks to the canine hero, the baby was found in good health and was rushed to the nearest police station. The touching story has quickly spread over social media in the Philippines and many felt touched by the dog’s exceptional bravery. Not all heroes wear capes, and not all of them are humans.

To find out more about the heroic dog and this moving story, Bored Panda contacted Gea Ybarita, the administrator of Hope for Strays animal rescue non-profit in Cebu, Philippines. Gea told us that the news about the abandoned baby in the southern part of Cebu was circulating all around social media. The local news channel reported that the baby was saved by a stray dog.
“I wondered so much why no one had credited and honored such a hero dog,” Gea recounted. “Just by chance, we went to Blacky’s place with our motorbike, hoping we could find him. We had zero leads on his exact location and their area was a very remote place.”
The heroic dog was initially thought to be a stray, but it turned out he had a home

When the Hope For Strays team arrived at the said dumpsite on the mountain, they were surprised to see neither people nor dogs staying there.
“After a few minutes, a guy on a motorcycle passed by and we then asked and showed him Blacky’s pictures regarding his whereabouts.” Turns out, the man was his owner, and “we felt so lucky and relieved after hours of travel.”
Gea said that Blacky’s owner, Lyndon Olingay, then invited them to his place to meet the hero dog. “His family are dog lovers and they have 4 more adult dogs with 5 puppies,” she said and added “The Olingay family are such genuine, humble and kind people.”

“I could not forget what Blacky’s owner once said: ‘No matter how hard life is, even though I’m poor, I feed all of my dogs and take care of them well.’” When meeting Blacky’s wonderful family, Gea said they realized why he and the other dogs are so sweet and gentle.

Hope For Strays helps to promote and advocate adoption of homeless stray animals in Cebu. Often, they discover ill-treated, extremely sick, and abandoned animals who have lost hope in this world.
“The number of stray dogs here in the Philippines has been steadily increasing. Thus, rescue organizations like ours need to find ways to rescue and feed the abused and neglected strays despite our very limited resources and audience.”
Blacky’s family still needed help and the animal rescue “Hope For Strays” thanked them with groceries for raising such a smart dog

Gea explained that the stray animal problem in the Philippines is so huge that it needs help from people. “If people would choose to adopt rather than to shop, if pet owners were more responsible and did more spaying and neutering of strays and their pets, then it would make the problem go away.”
“No stray would get hurt, cold, and hungry if we all chose kindness every day,” Gea told us and said that all animals’ lives are very precious. Just like Blacky, dogs and cats can actually save people and bring happiness to our lives.

“However, for us to be able to save these innocent beings, we must all work together and support small non-profit organizations like ours in protecting the stray lives. The more audience, the more we spread the word of being kind to every being here on Earth,” Gea concluded.

Many people were touched by this beautiful story, praising Blacky for saving a baby
Yeah, right?! I never never never understood how it can even be a question if animals have emotions? It should be a fact in everybody's mind. I personally felt more undestood by animals since my childhood than by people, exactly because animals communicate more on an emotional level ( and so many more ways too). I believe that whoever questions the emotions of animals, has a low emotional intelligence itself and these people tend to be more violent or uncaring about other people as well.

What if the mother was a child from an abusive home who was terrified of their parents finding out? Twelve and thirteen-year-olds get raped, and get pregnant. Why waste hate when you have no idea what the circumstances were that led to this?

During COVID19, my Filipina friend's sister got condoms from the government during their lockdowns. Everyone needs food and money for bills but nope, condoms and a small amount of rice. Not saying that normally, contraception is free ir even affordable in the Philippines (I don't know) but it is an amusing tidbit.
Load More Replies...This is such a heartwarming and telling story about the emotions and intelligence of animals. Long story as short as I can, I adopted a dog that was not technically up for adoption and come to find out as I was the only person that Pepper trusted at the Kennel he would occasionally then far more often bored at was being severely abused by the husband and locked in his kennel in a dark room 23 1/2 hours a day except to go outside. The wife was to meek and quiet to help him. Pepper trusted me and anytime he picked him up would lean so hard into me and become extremely aggressive and agitated with the man, almost protecting me. I finally said I would bored him at home with my dog's one time
And it became even more evident Pepper was seemingly pleading with me to save him. I called the wife and point blank asked her to tell me the truth when the husband was not around and sure enough my intuition was correct and she was astonished by Pepper's behavior and personality with me as opposed to when he was around them. I did not ask to keep him nor adopt him I told her that he will be staying with me not because of her, she genuinely tried to care and help him but he would have killed Pepper and once confronted with me calling the Police and proper authorities she willingly let him go. He tried to fight it but once I got his medical records and I saw what Pep endured by this scum bags hands

LOL at that guy praising the Lord. It were his creatures that dumped that baby there...
I thimk animals have more ♥ & empathy than humans, after all if a human gets lied to or humiliated & hurt slightly the are always leary of anyone getting close to them they will find it hard to trust. With a little patience & love a dog will shoe love gratitude & undying loyalty.
The moment when an animal dog takes more responsibility and is a better parent than you... I hope they are slowly, very slowly rotting to death somewhere.
My dog's less heroic version would be to lead someone to a bag of dog treats.
They should allow that dog to be a police dog. Sure does prove he’s a brave and heroic one! Thank you, Blacky, for saving that precious baby!

Blackie has more respect for life then about half the US. Glad baby got to be born and glad it was saved. Long waiting list to adopt babies so no doubt, it quickly went to a well vetted good home.
You see, this is why we need abortion to be an option. Otherwise sh*t like this happens.
